I'm a noob. It took me a long while to figure out how to create a new thread... Then saw the little folder on my screen. Took me a minute though. Maybe I'm just blind. Anyways, since I'm new, I figure this is a good place to start since this section is like... the Meet and Greet? Bah. I don't know. Hi. My name is Maxine, but I prefer to be called Max. I'm 15, turning 16 in another month or so. I love to write, read, and draw. I'm pretty normal in the most unusual ways. I guess that's about it. Any questions? Comments? Care to tell me a bit about this place? The only reason why I found this site was because I was randomly browsing the web, saw Desirable Discourses, something about Sims2 and I was like, "Hey. I play and love the Sims2. Why not?" And wala, here I am

Hi Max, welcome to our board. I'm Jo, SAHM from Australia, who just turned 21 again. We are a very relaxed place, without too many rules, so feel free to drag back old threads or chat about whatever you like. This is the correct place to make a Hi post. Do you have any sim stories? Feel free to post those too if you do. There are also photo sharing boards and a game board. General chit chat goes in the coffee house, while there is a Sims 3 and a Sims 2 section for talk about the game.

Hi there Max, welcome to Desirable Discourses! We love Sims2 and Sims3 here, and there are lots of fun threads to post in, and great stories to read. I'm Amylu (or Amy, I answer to both), I'm 23 and from the UK. ;D Feel free to explore the board and make yourself at home.

Haha. Was reading your posts and was looking for the "like" button but saw none then I was all like, "Oh... Right..." Thanks for the welcomes! I would be happy to share my sims2 stories with ya, but I don't know how to link them since the sims2 site is down I kinda wanted to write something cute and witty too... but fifteen minutes later and still nothing, so I guess I'll leave it at that.

We have 'Exhalt' which is kind of the same as 'liking' stuff on facebook? It adds to people's karma, sort of to show how helpful they are. It's on the left hand side of our posts, but I think you can only exhalt once a day...
Ah, the sims2 exchange seems to be gone for good, some of us have moved our stories to slideshare or scribd, having kept the original stories in the game. Do you still have your stories to be able to move them over?

Well if you really like a post you can Exalt the person who posted it. (Across to the left) It's a really bummer about the exchange, I still have old chapters on there that I want to get off. But as for new ones, blogger sites and Slide share or one of the other uploading sites are much better than the exchange ever was. If you want help with using another method, feel free to post about it on a relevant board. Down on the tutorial board are a couple of tutorials on uploading stories from Word. Or feel free to share some picspam down on the photo shoot sub boards under Sims 2/3. Lol, somehow I missed your post Amy. *Hunts for glasses*

You guys are adorable. And unfortunately, after the third month of the Sims2 being down, I had got discouraged and just cleaned out my game of my stories, thinking "What's the point?" The 2 stories on the Sims2 were finished and I had been working on my third one. After that I stopped playing the Sims2 for a month or two. I actually just started to play it again in the beginning of the week. Funny I had found you guys shortly after. Oh well, might as well start on a new one. Or just gather up an idea from one of my last ones and just tweak it here and there. But alas, I also have school so my story might go painfully slow depending how much I work on it. I'm looking forward to meetin' the rest of ya on here.

Welcome! I'm someone who as a hard time finding time to write my stories, too. My 1st 3 chapters for my old S2 story were on the Ex, but luckily I do have them saved to Word. (Now I just have to repost them somewhere.)
I hope you enjoy it here, and we look forward to seeing your new story, whenever you get the chance to write it.
Basically, we all post them at LJ or a Blog site (Blogger, Wordpress, etc.) and then just make a new thread in the correct story section, pasting the links there.

I'm planning to make a Blogger for my story. I started on the characters and the setting today. Writing the story is fun, but I have to say building the settings and the characters are my favorite part of it all. Not sure how far I'll get into it tomorrow because I have a fair to go to with my family and my boyfriend's family. But we'll see. Maybe when I have spare time during the week, I'll check stories by other people on here. Famous authors don't inspire me as much as kid writers my age do... Assuming there are kids my age on this site xD And of course the adults on here too are just as brilliant.

Lol, there are some kids/teens on here...amongst us old decrepit fossils on here... Quite a few of us on here are 'older players' and mums but I think you will find we're pretty much big kids at heart.

Well that's good. You're never too old to be goofy. Life is too short to be just one big stick in the mud, ya' know?
Anyways, after I post some pictures we took at the fair on here, I'm gonna continue building my story up.
