Origin help

Well I tried to download Castaways. But I don't understand this origin thing. First it won’t run as it says I am missing a file. I downloaded the file but don't know what to do with it or where to put it.
I tried uninstalled and reinstalling Origin and now it won’t install either. I've probably mucked up both my Castaway download and my sims 3. I don't understand this origan thing! What’s it for?! Other games don't need some second thing to make them work, it's very frustrating.

Edit: Even though I had uninstalled there were still a stack of origin files there, so I deleted all of them, rebooted and re-downloaded the set up and tried installing it again-and it worked. *Is majorly relieved* Now it's downloading Castaways like it should have done, (At snail pass but at least it's working) so crossing all corssables that it's all fixed now.

Also did anyone do that profile thing. It was making me do it which is also annoying, if I cancelled it and it closed the whole thing. *Gnashes teeth at EA* so I tried to sign in as "Death TO EA' and guess what? That user name was taken! So I added a 'Now' at the end and it was accepted and picked a battle pic with a very large gun.

Lol! I signed up for it, but keep it turned off. They really box you in to their little world.

How do you like Castaways?

It's fun so far, although befriending those four natives is a bit of a pain. I'm having more fun with Generations right now. I guess because there is a fair bit to explore. I have to be in the mood for scenarios like castaways. But it was only $10 on sale, so well worth that.

Once again, I can't get into my game. It shuts down the second it starts up. I didn't see an Origin update, but I'm wondering if I missed one.
