I guess I'm not supposed to play TS3, because now all of a sudden my game keeps crashing!!!
Like, I'll be in the middle of playing and all of a sudden the entire screen will go black, then the game will blink back in, then it'll go black again and I'll have to go to the task manager to get out of the game.
BTW this started happening after I customized a rug.
HELP PIXX!!!She's desperate to play!

Have you got all your patches Pixx? Maybe take out any CC? I know mine can't handle much at all.

I was going to ask about patches because I know there was a bad EADM that was causing peoples games to crash. Jill and karima know more about this stuff. Hopefully one of them will see this soon

As long as you have the latest version of EADM you should be okay. Have you installed any new CC lately before it started to crash? Most of the time crashes are due to bad or incompatible CC.

If CC isn't the problem then i would definitely patch your game!

And your PC specs? Do you have enough memory/ram to be running the game? at what resolution are you running it? Your graphics card drivers are they up to date? I used to get the black screen because I was running the game on full resolution, everything on max but not enough memory, and DH added more ram, and I've been fine since, no shutdowns, no black screens, and I have tons of CC

Also the game is best played in 64 bit formate, because even if you have the required 4gig of Ram the game requires,if you are playing it in a 32bit formate only 2gig of the 4gig of Ram will be working! And the game needs at least 3gig of Ram to run smoothly! ~ the new EADM is orange and black, the old one was green! ~ make sure your game is patched up to date,as a lot of glitches were fixed with the patches! ~ I know that my problem at the moment is a dying video card, that was not properly fixed when it went in for repair! anouther expense for my PC!

Also, if you downloaded anything from the exchange, you may have gotten the evil doll. Check your installed content from your launcher and look for "girl doll dressed". If you have her, uninstall from the launcher, then look in the tuturial here to remove the rest of her file from the game.

Its a brand new computer so the memory isn't the problem but I couldn't find the graphic info on this computer. My computer does have 64 color bits but I'm still not sure if the computer meets the graphic requirements.
I noticed that this problem started after I customized a rug, I deleted the rug and the problem remained. After I installed the game it updated itself.
I uninstalled it, I'm gonna reinstall it and see what happens, then I'll try installing patches again.

Do you have a dedicated graphics card?

Its a video card that you buy separately and place into the computer...it is usually needed to play games such as the sims...if you don't have one then it is possible that is why your game keeps crashing. I just got a new computer myself...it runs my sims game okay...it is a little slow but playable but I am going to have to buy a card to be able to play long term. My game doesn't crash because i have a decent integrated video card...but if you have a standard integrated card (one that is already installed with the computer) you need to go and buy one. That could be the issue for you if you are all patched and no cc and still having trouble.

Ugh. Well there's nowhere to by one where I am and my mom isn't gonna let me use her credit card. I think i'm just gonna give up on the sims.

Fight for your sims, Pixxy! My craptop has the video card built right into the motherboard, so I can't upgrade that one. I bought the nVidia card that plugged the Sims 3 right on the package for my pc. I still see plenty of other pics much cleaner than mine, but I'm happy.
Can you go into game options and scale back your resolution/reflections/shadows/etc to require less from your graphics card, or does it crash before you get there?
