That's so true. Maybe we should do a montage of DD's strongest women...I mean, take a look at the women from all DD's stories, and take the ones who've been through crap, survived and conquered their worlds...women who inspire us...bad ass women... Don't mind me guys, I think the three glasses of wine I've had are getting to me now Maybe we can do one for Tina, this hasn't been a great year for her but the montage can remind her of the strength and resilience of all these female characters and maybe it can cheer her up and she'll find strength in it and she'll want to conquer her world. Okay, I've taken this directly from the 2011 hotness thread and I hope it makes sense. We all know this hasn't been a great year for Tina and she could use all the support, laughs and smiles she can get. We always focus on hot men (our male characters), but we forget that behind these hot men there are strong, fierce, bad-ass woman who've been through hell and back and survived it all. So wouldn't it be cool to create a montage of these women, highlight their positive qualities and Tina can draw strength from this and if pixelated sims can get through anything, Tina can go through everything and still come out sane. For example- Bandura from Amylu's story, the first thing that comes to mind is her nurturing spirit and how she keeps her family together. Heather from Jill's Sealgaire- She's been through hell and back at the hands of Bruno but she survived it and she came out more graceful and she has an abundance for kindness... etc, etc. I hope you all get the picture. I can take the shots if no else is interested, but in terms of the layout, and design we'll have to decide on that. So, how about it? Edit- Calling all nominations 12 inspirational women, for 12 months of the year. They don't have to have been through hardships, but you have to explain why they inspire you. Maybe we can write something inspirational, like Victoria can be strength, and we can focus on that, Heather can be grace, etc, etc. But do we have 12 women in DD 1) Bandura - Nurturing 2) Heather - Grace 3) Victoria - Strength 4) Nellie - Courage 5) Alani - Perseverance 6) Angel - confidence 7) Eve - Guidance 8) Lucinda - healing 9) Charrise - Acceptance Have I missed anyone?

But you can contribute a lot in terms of graphics and I should have added women who inspire us...so let's not restrict it to hardships, but let's focus more on inspiration. I'll add that on the first post

Okay, my nominations
For Strength: Victoria Chace-from Unforgettable. She has not only been through a horrible kidnapping, and lost her baby. But she also lost both parents in a fierce explosion. She could have used Storm as an emotional crutch, but she didn’t. Instead, she used her experiences for self-reflection and growth and she drew courage and strength from herself. She didn’t rely on a man to fix; she fixed herself.
Grace & Kindness: Heather from Sealgaire She's been through hell and back at the hands of Bruno but she survived it and she came out more graceful and she has abundance for kindness...
Nurturing spirit: Bandura from Amylu's Hypothesis Incorrect The first thing that comes to mind is her nurturing spirit and how she keeps her family together.
So to round it all up, Victoria, Heather, Bandura & Nellie Blye

Nellie Bly - Courage. She explored the tombs of the world while exploring her own feelings, and learned more about herself and the things she could survive, whether it was her heart that was in danger, or her life. Nellie learned to look inside herself, and found the courage to move forward when it would've been easier to just give up.
Alani (from Alani's Quest) - Perseverance. Alani grew up from a terrible childhood and never gave up. Even when she found herself homeless, she found a way to work a job and get herself a place to live. She had to use public restrooms to clean up, slept on park benches, and ate when she could, but never once did she stop to feel sorry for herself. She got up every day, determined to make a better life for herself, and did what it took to get there.

Okay my fuddled head finally found this. I don't think I have any characters which show anything like this. I was going to offer either Lottie, Angel or Opal.

I like Angel for it - it was comedic, but she never took no for an answer, and refuses to follow the rules of others - even nature, by refusing to age! She knows how to look out for number one, but her family is just as important to her, and God help the fool that messes with Angel's family! She has the confidence to never doubt herself, no matter who tells her she's wrong. I think we could call her page "Self Love, or confidence".

Confidence is a good word for summing up Angel. If you wanted a second I would suggest Opal for optimism or calmness because she is also very confident but in a totally different direction then Angel.

Only just found this, it's a wonderful idea Val, and I'd be happy to contribute Bandura to it. I could also add Penny for straight talking or just generally being true to herself? Oh and I should add that if I contribute my characters, they're stuck in my laptop so I'd have to provide shots of them; I still have no internet on my own computer and SimPE isn't working.
Another one that came to mind is Tina's own Lucinda Duvall, the one with the dreadlocks that helped people to heal from Louis' torture. She persevered through a heck of a lot and stayed true to her caring nature. Or there's Shannon from the same stories, she went through all sorts of plot (great for us but hard for her) and ended up with a happy ending.

This is an AWESOME idea and I think Tina will love it. I don't think I have anyone to contribute that has a characteristic that hasn't been mentioned. The only female characters, in my stories, I can think inspire me would be Eve, for being the glue that holds her family together; and Ivah, who goes after what she believes and is not afraid to say what she feels.

I was thinking of them, but I couldn't remeber if I was thinking of things that haven't happened in your story yet. Ivah will really shine in the upcoming chapter, but I think I'm the only one that knows that! Lol!
Eve would be great for the family matriarch characteristic. Just like you said - the glue that keeps the family bond together when the world tries to pull it apart.

Sorry guys, I'm not feeling too good right now. Hayfever and a b*** of a headache. But I'll add all the names to the first post so we'll know how long our list is as soon as I feel well enough. Unless Jo or Jill can add it for me

I put them up there. Karima, I didn't know if you want Charrise or not. Kind of like Holley's Ivah, we haven't gotten to the part in their story where they really shine. I added her - let me know what you think.
For her virtue, Maybe acceptance? She goes with the hand that life has dealt her, and realizes nothing can change the past. Instead of looking back, she looks forward and is making a new life for herself, filled with new friends, a new job, and a new town. What do you think?
