Poor Jo! I think that's against the Geneva Convention - even prisoners are entitled to internet! *searching for a silver lining...* Oh! I know, now you can work on your story uninterrupted? I know, that's not helping. Sorry! That's the best I gotz! Did you check out your help thread?

Thank goodness you're okay! Phew... I was beginning to worry about you. I was hoping it was something as simple as a bad net connection or something. It's great to hear from you! But man... I'm sorry about your problem. That sucks! We did throw some ideas at you though. Hopefully some of them will help!

I will go check it out. I did a little to my story. Actually been playing Alpha centory (sp?) and taking a break from it all. Hopefully then I will feel like it again. I think I may start a new challenge see if that helps.

It's infuriating, isn't it? Do you have a wi-fi connection nearby? I've used that in a pinch. We'll have to turn to your mobacy to entertain us till you come back...

Dh says we don't have that. Our broadband comes via the telephone line on a different frequency. He's tried a direct plug in, a different filter, different cables, a different modem even-he went bought a new one. Anyone a techy wizz here? Telstra(phone company server) say it is turned on, sorry for our convenience and we are in the queue.

Run the Network wizzard..Tell it to enable the internet connection on the new modem...
Go to control panel, click on internet connections and browse in there till you find something that needs turned on...
Plus go to Device manager and see if your realtech drivers are on..If you see a red one or one with a yellow exclamation mark right click and repair it....
Sorry for your problems.......This can be hard to fix long distance...But you can probably get it done.....Did your modem come with drivers?

Dh says we have to wait till the ADSL stops blinking red. He says it is the signel coming from Telstra thats the problem. I don't understand any of it. He says yes it comes with drivers. All this was meant to be was the server upgrading our already exsisting ADSL. Thanks anyway Harley.

Idiots! Just like with everything these days... they almost always break something while trying to upgrade to something better!

OK I see...Then yes.a red blinking LED means just that..No signal from the server...I sure he has tried to unplug / reset it already...... And installed the drivers / software? I feel your pain....... damn phone tech people are clueless at best....

At best?
Ugh, I hate it when the internet doesn't work, I feel like I might explode!! All the computers and wi-fi in my house are connected to one server so if that ones out, they're all out!

We're that way too, Sarie. It does have a tendancy to drive one bonkers if they are used to doing something on a daily basis and it suddenly gets snatched away. Really does suck!
