Well, I've finally built my first lot in The Sims 3, even though I don't fancy myself much of a builder. As some of you know, I am going to start a 'new' town, actually it's a version of Riverview, but that's beside the point...lol
Simselvania is where my first group of simselves will be introduced. Unfortunately, for these unsuspecting simselves, they will find themselves 'homeless'. I am even thinking of making it into a challenge of some sort, if only I can come up with some rules and stipulations. Anyway, those inncocent little pixelated people will start out here:
There are some picnic tables and a grill, although it's unusable on a residential lot without a counter and a fridge, which they will not be allowed to have.
There are a few benches scattered around for sleeping.
There is even an old 'outhouse' for doing their busniness, only no showers.
Inside the 'outhouse':
This building thing in TS3 really baffles me a bit. When I was done building, it said the price was $21, 551 furnished and $20, 458 unfurnished, but... from the hood view, it says it only costs $16, 339! It beats the heck the outta me!
Anyway, if you want to play homeless simmies and have them 'broke', then I guess if you use this lot, you can burn up some more money by doing some extra landscaping or you can just type: testingcheatsenabled true, familyfunds name amount, and then testingcheatsenabled false. Of course instead of 'name', type the name of your family and instead of 'amount', type the amount you want to leave them with. You don't want to take it all away because you don't want the repoman coming to take any of your benches, etc away...lol
The download link will follow if you are interested in obtaining a copy. For the record, this lot was built at 467 Farmers Vally Road in Riverview if you want to place it there to have the scenery look like mine. It's not far from the Riverview Fish Hatchery. It gives the address in the info on the lot as well. The size is 60x60.
