LOL! I don't know. I'm pretty sure something is up because Stefan called Damon for help, but it never showed what sort of helping he did. Since I can't stand that girl, my guess is that he did something to prevent her from being permanently dead. lol

I never thought that - I just assumed he disposed of the body. Did he say anything about it when he erased Elena's brother's memory? I thought he said "it's done" or something to that effect. I was surprised he did that for Elena - is he crushing on her too?

LOL! When he said, 'It's done', he was talking about erasing the brother's memory and... oh yeah! He's crushing on her too because she looks exactly like Katherine, a girl they both knew and fell in love with before they were vamps. As a matter of fact, on the show before last week's, we learned that SHE was the one who actually turned them both into vampires!

So will the TV show go through the events of the whole 4 books then? They seem to be missing some stuff out and adding their own characters from what I've gleaned, although I still haven't watched it, being in England and also having no TV. But yay for the mention of Katherine, she is indeed pivotal to at least the first two books if I remember rightly. ;D

I've never read the books. Heck, I didn't even know they existed until after the series came on TV, but I did look it up on the web yesterday. I found a synopsis of the books on Wikepedia, though. According to that, a LOT of things are different in the series than in the books. Characters are different and the characters look different. Elena/Katherine was a blue-eyed blond in the books and she has long dark hair and brown eyes, I think, on the show. One of her friends, who has special powers, was a redhead in the books and the character is portrayed by a black girl on the show, etc.
Just as in movies, I doubt the series will follow the book's storyline completely. Whatever the case, I am really loving this show!

I noticed the differences in Bonnie and Elena, and also the fact that Meredith had disappeared, but I think the show's sticking to the main points of the book.....Damon. I hope I can get around to watching a few episodes from this at some point, I'd love to see if it's as good as the books were.

I don't know if it's as good as the books, but... it's GOOD! Damon makes it especially good.
