Does any one have any idea that i can do in my sims game to keep me wanting to play. i make a sim or a family play them for a while then delete them and because i keep doing this i had given up playing.
I bought ambitions and the only thing ive done with it so far is got level 10 in inventing and made a time machine and made my two sims go back in time and "try for a baby in the past" and a few hour later a child turns up saying something like "im home this is better than the cave you left me in"
Just to check and see what ages come out of the time machine i saved after doing "try for a baby in the past" and every time a person came through the time machine i checked and restarted game i did this a few times and you get from teens to adults
i thought id share this i dont know if any of you know about it yet

You could try writing a story or a legacy or doing a challenge with your sims. I play sims 2 for storytelling purposes and in that way I don't get bored of my families ;D Yeah, most of us have ambitions and Jill has tried the try for baby option in the time machine and has lots of adult kids as a result of that And me, I'm just enjoying every bit of chance I get to play ambitions. I'm still gaga over the fireman and inventing career and once I get bored of that I'll tackle the next profession. I try and not do everything all at once because then I'll get bored very quickly

I've also just read that on random regular missions into the past, you can come back with a child-aged child. (something about saving this child from a horrible fate?) In those cases, the travelling sim is the only parent, and the married partner is shown as a step-parent. (I'm guessing this works in the furute, too. In my Juni's Ambitions thread under Sims 3, I have lots of pics to show what I've found so far. I've been trying out lots of new things & posting what I find. Good luck, Anna! desirablediscourses.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=screenshots&thread=2001&post=66358

Well, my TS3 PicSpam is the family I started when TS3 first came out. I don't have AMB, just WA, but I still like playing it. If your interested my PicSpam is here: desirablediscourses.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=screenshots&action=display&thread=1214&page=1The PicSpam is through out the thread. I think it is normal to sometimes get bored of playing for awhile. That doesn't happen to me though cause I still play both games. If I get sick of TS2 I go play TS3, and visa versa.

We're supposed to be starting a round robin legacy here, but Sawyer, our first, hasn't been around for ages. If you're interested in being a part of it, you're welcome to join in. Heck, you might even be able to take the first spot if you're interested if Sawyer doen't put in an appearance soon!
You'll have to let me know if you get a future or past child just by travelling in the time machine (without the try for baby option). I'm interested in seeing that! I'm especially curious to know if this works for a simbot, who is not given a try for baby option.

i leveled the invention skill to 10 on a tester sim so i will put it on after my tea and do the travel to the future and past thing and see if i can get one i will take pic's if i remember if not i can exit without saving do you know if the child comes back with you or not? i'm not sure about the legacy thing as i dont really like to stick to the rules (i like to keep the health and stuff maxed with the thing through the mail box and i always turn agin off i dont like old sims lol) but maybe in the summer hols when i have more time i'll have a go

I play challenges to keep interested. I play one for awhile, get bored and switch over to another. But, yes there is no cheating. Cheating makes things too easy for me which bores me. Maybe this is why you are bored. How about trying an asylum? Cheat on your other families but don't cheat on that! Maybe you will discover how much fun just watching sims take care burn the place down can be! Just adding: I'm talking about sims 2 here. I do have sims 3, but only the base game. I would really like Ambitions but I don't think my computer would take it. I can't even play around in sims 3 CAS for long or it crashes. I do have a sims 3 asylum, but they aren't nearly so funny as a sims 2 asylum. Blighters look after themselves too well.

I'm a cheater, too. If I didn't max them out at the mailbox, I'd quit playing! Lol! I want to play the game - explore tombs in WA without having to worry about them being too tired or needing a bathroom. I did the same with AMB - I get their skills up quicker so I can see what they can do.
From what I read, the child comes back with the traveller. I didn't see any pics, so I'm not sure. All my "try for baby" kids came out alone, a bit after the parents returned. I'm going to try now & see if anything happens.
I want to see the fireman career - I'm hoping Val posts hers soon! I want to see an earthquake and if you can really rescue a sim.
I thought a doctor was supposed to be one of the new careers you actually play, but I have 2, and they're not doing anything differently than before.

hehe that is the only cheat i use i dont use the money cheats unless im building my own house then i give them enough to build the house and pur furniture in then i take there money of them and leave them with $1500 the sim i was playing last night before bed i only used the mail box cheat and to get lots of money i turned her into a writer and kept writing fiction novels until she unlocked romance and she's not got a lot of money and is now working on another skill.

Slade's rescued sims before from large house fires. He had to convince the adults to run and carry the children out. He looks so manly and brave when he's carrying the kids over his shoulder. But I'm not sure if you meant rescue people from the actual earthquake or what? No earthquakes yet for me too Okay, I'll post some pics later of Slade putting out fires
