Like I said, I have the family (sans a couple hairs and the AMB traits), but no house.
I want to be clear. When I choose the family from the bin, the house is there. When i choose an empty lot to put them on, it disappears.

That's because EA did not make the games backward compatible,the house is there, but you do not have the extra EP that was used in creating the house! And because you do not have it, it will disappear,the same happens with items from other EP's!

Also Jo, did you see that her eco-friendly trait also can't be used. I was going to make it "green thumb" if that's okay.

OK, I have downloaded the house & cleaned it out. There was still some dirty laundry in there, along with a bunch of furniture/appliances/etc from AMB. I didn't know about the wallpaper/flooring used, so I left that alone. There was AMB stuff in the family inventory as well as a few of the backpacks.

I'll try and upload a completely empty house and see if that works. There wasn't a blank 60 x 60 empty lot that I could find in 2 hoods, so I had to bulldoze an empty house that was on a 60 x 60 lot and put it there.

If this doesn't work, I don't think anyone has a problem with you starting her in any house you want. To give her the dollar value of the old family house, you can just motherlode, then have Dawn "donate" the extra money to charity thru the mailbox. I'm sure no one will have a problem with this.

You're a gem Jilly, thank you for taking all that trouble. I don't understand about the furniture though, I cleared that place out right down to the smoke alarms.

Jo I do know Jilly took the download link from this thread, & Holley PM the latest, it would have been the the first one if you cleaned it out!
~ Jilly it does not matter,if the wall paper & flooring are AMB,it will not show,but I have doubts that Holley will be able to get the house to show,someone with base game only needs to re-build it!
~ (If only we could use 'Any game starter!' it makes ever thing BASE GAME ONLY! Or a CLEAN INSTALLER,but sadly these are only for Sims2!)

Holley emailed the link Jo gave her for the DDRR version, so that's what I used. All their stuff was in the family inventory, but in their backpacks, there were some cut gems, and I thought some of the cuts may have been from AMB.

There were about 4 or 5 piles of dirty laundry on the floors of various rooms, but other than that, everything else was in the inventory box.

If she can't get the house to show up, I don't think anyone will mind if she uses a different house. It's kind of an unforseen problem, so I don't think it would be considered a "cheat", but a solution. Maybe she can use the cleaned-out version, but if not, no big.

And I got my copy of Darcy out of it, so I'm good to go! Lol!

OK, everyone. I think we need a rule ammendment. I say we’ll just have to move the heir onto an empty lot to pass them on from now on, now that we know there’s a potential for nightmares and hair loss. (ours, not the sims)

I sure don’t want it to become a nightmare for the player – it’s supposed to be fun. If the other family members are moved off the lot first, then the heir moves off, the heir will get all the money & everything should travel with them to the empty lot to be passed on.

Does anyone have a problem with the new rule?
