Just Messin' Around

Okay, I had to open Photoshop to work on one of the pics I took of my challenge lot. After I fixed that, I decided to just play around a bit while it was open. The interface of CS4, which is what I have now, is SO different from Photoshop Elements 5.0 that I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to working with it. Therefore I can use all the practice I can get.

Anyway, I opened the pic of the living room of my Challenge lot and just started randomly overlaying some other pics on top of it. At first it was sort of random, but then I decided to add some sims to picture and then a 'theme' began to develop. It may be a bit confusing to the eye, (hubby said it was confusing to him...lol), but I think it actually turned out pretty cool-looking so I decided to post it here since no new graphic threads have been created lately. What the heck, eh? ;D

Anyhow, here is the product of my 'just messin' around':

Hey thanks Nicole! I'm glad you think it's cool! ;D

Well, I don't really know how I did it...lol. I started out with just a picture of the empty living room. Then I dragged all the other pictures on top one at a time and used the eraser tool to get rid of the parts I didn't want. I used the brushes that make it sort of fade away on the edges instead of cutting it off sharply.

Then I adjusted the opacity until I thought it looked nice and sized each pic to fit how I wanted it. The whole thing probably took me an hour or so, but I always lose track of time when I'm playing in photoshop so I can't be totally sure of that.

I'm sure glad you like though because at first hubby said it was confusing...LOL! But he saw it before I was finished with it.

I LOVE, love, love it,I am scared of doing graphics, which is extremely funny, because,the careers I wanted are:Graphic Artist & Bio chemistry, Yet I,m scared of fiddling with it all, as I have so far experimented, as there is no text to explain things, but I love yours looks really good,I would give it 5 stars & tons of beanies ;D

Thanks Karima! But... why are you afraid? There's nothing to be afraid of really. Just get in there and start playing around. Just make sure you are working on a copy so that if you ruin it, you've lost nothing. It doesn't take unless you save it anyway. I've tried reading about how to do things, but it only confuses me so I am learning by just jumping in there and doing it!

My favorite part of photo shop or Adobe is the undo key !!!!!!!! If you have seen my covers they are so basic, my sis loves them, but she said she wanted one cover for the whole story of ZERO, I do very little with story photos, you know, the sky is showing or a light is hanging in mid air, that type of stuff,I love the lassoo tool

I hardly ever use the lasso tool. It's a weird tool for me...lol. I used to not do anything to my pics at all for the longest time. I just got in there, played my game, and then wrote my story. Now my story writing has become more like work..lol. It's work I've been on vacation from because I have MANY people anxiously awaiting my next chapter and I I haven't even begun on it yet.... I need to definitely start though.

I would call it work too, if I had to photo edit ever pic ! I think I have done about five that are in my story, not including the covers.
I am thinking about, what, I should do with my story as the next bit is about the subject that we are not allowed to speak about & one of the sub-stories also has it, but if I take it out the story as it is, will not make any sence ! I have cover done,pics taken ,I'm just trying to rap my head arround how to change the story so it does not sound stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that is a tough one. Too bad you didn't read the rules before writing your story...lol. LOTS of people make that mistake though. Although really it should be obvious since the game itself doesn't allow for that sort of thing...lol.

Heck I'm having difficulty trying to 'wrap my head' back around my story so I can put out the next chapter. All I really need to do though is just really start thinking about it again and stuff usually comes to me. I've just had so many other things going on lately that is keeping me away from doing that. *sigh* lol

Well I am here a lot. It is my duty to make sure everything's good and hopefully everyone feels at home here. I love nothing more than to log on and see that folks have been chatting and having a good time here.

Although that stuff is not really what's keeping me from my story. It's all the RL crap that puts a damper on that..

Tina, Is there a free program for photoshop that I would be able to use? I love graphics & really like to make Layouts,, I've made a few for Myspace, but I know I can do alot better with something like that!
OOPS! I got so excited about upper sub, that I forgot to tell you I love the Pic! Cool, you can see your curved bridge in the background! I think I've created Curved bridge monsters!
