;D I am not getting kicked out of my game anymore, so it has fixed that for me but has anyone noticed this? I am playing a single Sim with baby, I have aging off, so I took my baby to the cake & she became a toddler,(before the patch!) I have tried to age her up(since installing the patch!) to a child but only her mum has that option? Am I doing anything wrong, she has learned everything & read every book that you can buy for toddlers(Yes she read them by herself, just put the book on the floor for your toddler to read, but I have found that if you get the parent to read to them it stops this action, & says 'these books are only for toddlers' & it is quicker for the toddler to read them by themselves,& I started straight after her birthday! even before she was taught how to walk, talk & potty train! It is probably general knowledge, but I found out by accident as I left one of the toddler books on the floor & she just started to read it!)

I didn't know they could read their own book - that's cool!

It's not general knowledge for me. I had no clue that a toddler could read books on their own. But then again, I have had no toddlers or babies yet in my game.
Sorry Karima, but I know nothing about aging up toddlers or anything, especially since I have not had any. Maybe you should turn aging on and then try it to see if she'll age up.

I did not know that about them reading on their own! That's good to know!

I'm confused as per usual. Are we suppose to put the first patch and then the second one on? Or just the second one? I am so far unpatched and haven't noticed any troubles, but then I really don't play sims 3 very much.

As far as I know if you install the new patch it will tell you if you have a patch missing, but this is the new & improved patch so you just install it & it does the rest! :-*As for the toddler reading on there own, which is very cute BTW with the parent doing it! but I do suggest to only do that with the last book, get the toddler to read all the books except the last(which makes them getting very good traits so if you want a wild child don't read to them or get them to read! in fact if you want a bad child DO NOT TEACH THEM ANYTHING they will be assigned bad traits by the game!) & then with the last book get the parent to read to them, it is too cute! But if you do the parent thing (like me) after the third book, when I got the parent to read again & I tried the toddler to read, the message that popped up said 'this book can only be read by toddlers' I guess you can imagine an Aussie K yelling at the EA programmers,& then they ruined a nice thing! also the said books ARE not cheap, but I had to sell them at a used price when they were unreadable because the game said so, & said books were not used at all!that was with the Asian toddler/single dad & his mom!as he knew everything else,as both had trained him, I took him to the cake (as I have aging off until I get the hang of the game & know whats what!)so in my game he is now a child,I have only played three toddlers all game generated, girl, boy then girl! it was the first girl that read the book by accident!I have a first baby coming to Aussie K soon! so I should know what to do when that happens! I find that getting them to read the books is so much quicker as there is not that toddler & parent getting into position thing(very annoying & time wasting, if you ask me!)this is as I have played it !!!!!! EDIT: I forgot to mention that the toddler reading by themselves is also very cute!

I don't know if the toddlers would age up with aging turned off.

Sitll having problems, Lynda? I thought you upgraded the video card & all was well now. This patch may help you, as it addresses a lot of video card issues, and some crash issues, too.

Click on my spoiler and see the stuff it's supposed to fix. Although if you're having trouble outside of the game, you may have bigger problems.

How I figured out that something was wrong is I couldn't get into my game!! I thought I was going to freak out!! Of coarse I had just gotten my game put together just the way I wanted it!!! I don't hate to many things in this world, but this thing is one of them!!!

I don't know if the toddlers would age up with aging turned off. EA made it that way, & taking anyone to a cake in aging off works, but this last toddler won't even register on the list, maybe it is because she has already been aged up from a baby, via the cake, maybe you can only do it once for each Sim? as I have aged others up but only one time as they are not ready to age any further yet!

I have aging on, and I always use the cake. Lynda, if you're having prolems with just your game, then I think you should add the updates. It sounds like it addresses all the technical problems. (I think you have to put the first update in to get the second one in. It's the second one that fixes the tech problems.
