I have the sim I made for the legacy challenge but I can't do anything until I have her saved!

um, are you in cas Jo? If so-then look down where your sim is and click on the 3 dots and one of them should upload. I don't know where the file would be if you need to upload to another site! Look in saved sims in the my documents thing?

Thanks Ashley I had totally forgotten about that. I might go Google how to upload her.

Once you hit those three dots, select save to the sim bin. The sim will be in your saved sims folder. If you leave the game and go to My documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Savedsims, you should see the name you gave your sim in there. This is the file you upload to box.net or wherever you upload things to. When you get one of these from someone else, you go to the same location and insert it into your saved sims folder.
Once you hit those three dots, If you select upload instead of save to sim bin, the sim will go into your launcher and wait to be uploaded to the Ex from there.

Well I may have already uploaded her wrongly then. I Googled and found something about going to the mirror in game so I did that and she is on my simpage. is that ok or is it still bad to add in sims via the exchange?

You can also save by going to the mirror. That's how we can save in-game-born sims in TS3. What you need to do is to click 'save to bin' instead of 'upload' and then post her from your saved sims folder like Jill said.
I'm not sure about the exchange. If it won't let me download it without the launcher, I'm not downloading that way.

It should be easy to find her in the saved sims folder. Unlike with TS2, they save with actually names.
