Well then AL isn't going to do anything worse to your computer I suppose, Unless they've made sucUrom more invasive this time around.

I must've told him to install & NOT run about a million times. I was all set to get over to GameCopyWorld & look for the crack. I think he just thought that, since it didn't happen to me, that it wouldn't happen to him. He's trying to figure out how to remove it now. I just hope he can save some of his files onto an external hd before he has to reformat. The sites we looked at all said not to uninstall the games before trying to remove the suckyrom, but the first thing he did when it all fubarred was uninstalled the game. ANy help???

Hi two, OK Many words I would like to use right now!!!!! George brought me home another AL, Well the game will not load again! As a matter of fact it absollutly does nothing at all. No code comes up, nothing . Its like it wants to load and then just gets stuck! This is the 2nd disk for me and they both did the same thing! What do you think is wrong? I have not heard the word FUBARRED in about 10 years, that alone made me feel alittle better.

Oh man.... *groan* It seems everyone is having problems today. Jilly, the only thing I can think to tell you is to go to maty and read the 'How to remove securom' thrread. It may help if you can figure it out, but since it's already screwed up your cd drives, saving all the files you can and reformatting may be the best routhe to take, unfortunately. Lynda, I'm so sorry you're having such problems too. If I were you, I'd back up my game files (which I hope you did before trying to install AL in the first place) and uninstall/reinstall ALL the games to see if that helps. I've done that a few times lately and while it's a bit time-consuming, it isn't the end of the world. Securom may have taken a nice hold on your computer too. Have you tried running another disc in your drive to see if it will autorun? If it's autorrun that's being stupid, you can right click on the disk and tell it to run. You may want to try that first.

If so just what does it do..Start, not start..Install partially and quit..Any errors ? Try to launch another dish...You need not run it,just see if it will launce.....

He just decided to completely wipe the hard drive & start from scratch. I've read so much on the M&G threads, I don't think I'm going to install it at all. (Which really sucks, cuz I really wanted it, plus I can't find the receipt!) I'll tell you what, I don't think I'll see Sims 3 in this house. Lynda, I hope you get your disc to run, AL is really a fun EP, if you can get it to work! You don't have M&G installed, do you?

Hey Jilly, I installed M&G and am having no problems with it, of course I'm using a non-securom infested executable. Lynda, a thought just occurred to me: Do have a dvd drive on your computer? If all you have is a cd drive, the disc won't run because it only comes in dvd format. LOTS of people found that out the hard way..... stupid, inconsiderate EA!

No I do not have M&G, and with all this fuss about AL I don't no about that eather. George thinks that who ever ran this batch of AL'S disc, ran them wrong & or pressed them wrong, or left out the loading part of the disc. Which kinda makes sence, because all my other disc's loaded just fine! I don't know whats going on. Poor George came behind my computer chair, kissed me on the top of my head and said, I wish there was something I could do Lynda. He's going to keep returning AL until he finds one that works, thank goodness he works at Walmart! I hope you're hubby gets his game fixed. Do you have the Phone problem? If so I have nothing better to do but research it for you, besides I have not even gone into my game yet since I reinstalled, and with my luck I still might have the same phone problem. I never did fix my phone problem eather! I'll dig deep and find something that will fix it! LUG

I have a cd rw, something like that. I did notice that to open support I had to have the dvd thing, but I didn't think it really mattered. OK Tina what is the dvd thing?

Digital Video disc. It's the sort of discs that have movies on them. They are bigger and hold more info that cds. If you don't have DVD drive on your computer, then you cannot install AL. EA did not release it in a CD format. Most newer computers come with DVD drives already on them, but the older ones only had CD drives.
