According to the current poll on the front page of the BBS, 32% of simmers have NEVER played a sim from birth to death! I actually happen to be one of them...lol. I would never have suspected the percentage of that would be so high..lol I have actually only had a handful of sims actually die in my game. I could probably name them all, except for the dormies who've dropped dead from not taking care of themselves due to one of Pescado's mods not allowing them to be invulnerable. One of them was Herb Oldie in one version of my hoods, but his wife never passed on...lol How about you? (of course I know legacy players have had in-game-born sims die many times...lol)

I just got finished reading your Destiny story & now I can hardly see to type! I've only been connected to the internet for 2yrs! Can you believe that! I don't have a clue what I did during the day before that! (Probably cleaned my house alot more!) When I finally hooked up with Sims2.com, I had no clue what a Legacy was. Come to find out I had been doing legacies all along. When the S2 came out, I started with just one family, of coarse The Kelly Family, then made my own sims, (except for Meadow, I have always liked her) and had gotten up to 16 generations! The whole family consisted of 113 Blood relitives(thats not encluding the sims that married into the family! Talk about a family tree! I do believe at that point I had had enough of playing a family, so I just started building! I finially got up enough courage to talk to somebody on the BBS, It was Smurffbunnie, I'm sure some of you remember her. I did her first challenge & have been hooked ever since!

Sorry about my sad story Lynda...lol It was sad, but true. *sniff* Wow, that is a LOT of generations! I can't believe I've never done that in my game, but there is something about letting my sims die that disturbs me..lol. When I first about The Sims 2 and that your sims could grow old and die, I really hated the idea of that. I loved my simmies in The Sims and couldn't imagine having them die off..lol. I thought I'd never want The Sims 2 because of that. Of course I got it and then totally could NEVER play The Sims again because of the difference in the graphics, etc, plus although the getting old and dying part sucks (just like it does in RL..lol), I love the fact that do grow and change and don't stay children forever like in The Sims. I've always tried to rotate and play the whole hood so that everyone grows together and... well, that takes quite a while so I still haven't made through many generations!

I haven't had many sims die of old age. My best 'legacy' was actually my creation to Future family who had just made it ti generation 4, but no one had died yet, my founders where/are still alive. I just gave them as much elixer as possible.

Ah yes... that good ol' elixer! ;D Gosh I wish we had something like that in the real world! An aging off cheat would come in mighty handy as well... lol

But only when there aren't toddlers, kids and teens in the house that you want to age. The simself houses I have aging off.

Yea, we sure don't want 'forever toddlers' around! Although I have done that for a few days here and there just to get to get to play them as toddlers for a bit longer. I still haven't put any simselves in my game yet, although they are all ready in CAS. I'm going to to do that one day soon and have a simself house too.

I have all of you guy in cas too, just not in my game yet! I would love to do a story of some sort, on all the simselves I have! I think I might have the old one's(from about 3 to 6mths ago. ) My goodness, that would be fun! They would have to live in there own homes! Kinda like a neighborhood thing. What do you guys think? It might be my next project! Singles have there own home, Married must have DH's, a thought! Gotta Love Them!

I must be one of those peeps, as (first PC crash)I was just playing as I did not have the internet, & my hoods were all full by the time I joined 'The Sims 2' (I think I was up to Seasons) by then & downloading anything from anywhere & of course it crashed, you think I would have learnt by that ,no I did it again, all my families gone again,so sad thats when I decided to back everything up that I could & finding more protetion against harmful stuff) anyway this time around I have not had any families go to the next gen ! But I can say that I have been through several generations, before the internet ;D I have only been on line for just over two years ;D

I think the aging is what kept me playing SIms 1 for so long aftr Sims 2 came out. I haven't done this, but I think I will someday. When I saw my simself age up to elder in Jo's asylum, I thought I turned out pretty good! Lol! I boolProp everyone in adulthood - everyone younger can age, but no one gets past adulthood. The only one I let age was Pollination Tech's wife. I cheated him back to adult, but let her die of old age, so I could marry him off to a hot alien chick to make "pureblood" alien babies! Strangetown is full of them, but I haven't played there in almost a year! That town is filled over every square inch with families of all kinds. Last May, I started my challenge hood, and have been playing there until I got AL & found Bella Donna Cove. So my MO seems to be abandonment once everyone gets old! I have a new family I made for my new story, and there are elders, but I don't see myself letting the adults age up. I know from RL that t's no fun. I want happy simmies!

Pixx, it came from the deep, dark depths of my mind! Hehe.. Everyone's replies are quite interesting. Growing into elder certainly is not much fun. I'm not there yet, but I suppose it's approaching quickly!

To Funny Karima, were on the same page! I have every game as far as the sims, now the sims 2 , what I don't have is, UNI, PETS, FT, AL & M&G ( I use to have UNI, but I lent it out to a good friend & she lost it! Not much of a good friend. Jill, the ageing thing is a good thing, it's the natural way for the sims to pass. Granted I have been guilty of the ELIXAR, but that just prolongs the Grim Reaper! He kinda gets mad at the rest of the family, and pretty much gives them BAD LUCK! After going 16 Generations, I know how mean the grim reaper really is!! MEAN!!!!!! Scarey!!!!! Also if you guys havent let a sim die naturally, then you don't know all the grim reapers tricks! Run & hide Simmies!
