I think this is my 800th post. We should throw a party!
What got me started, my 800th post to look back and remember. Okay, how I got started. There was this teacher who did Scholastic orders at school, she taught english and RK and was freakishly happy. Anyways my cousin (who I hate like hell and love to death) and I kept seeing this sims thing, all the expansion packs and base game but we were mainly into books. We just thought it was so stupid and never really thought to buy it.
One day we figured what the hell and bought the thing. It was the deluxe edition. We installed it on the same day and spent like three hours on the phone getting excited over what our sims did. We were both hooked ever since.
Then sims 2 came out and I got mine that same summer, he still didn't get his but he got the one for the nintendo DS. He's probably going to get sims 3 before me because he has vista I'm still hooked on XP. But I'm gonna buy the game and keep it around until I can use it.

It's fun to know someone in RL that plays, too. My 2 nieces both have houses in my game & my husband's game, and when they come over, it's like a think tank in here, with everyone on their own computer playing Sims. When they got a computer at their house, I bought them Seasons, then went over & loaded up all my previous games for them. (so they only needed to have the one I bought them to play them all.) They don't have anything newer to keep them from suckyrom hell! It's really cool when they call, come by, or email to tell me what they did in the game!

Congrats on 800 Pixx! ;D It took long enough to get started and now no one can stop you! You go girl! So... your hubby plays the sims too, Jilly? That's cool. Harley has tried to play a few times, but he just doesn't really get the hang of it...lol! He'll sit there and swear because he can't keep up with their needs, etc...lol

I got started a long time ago.
A few years ago, me, my friend, and my friends mom were all in Wal-mart. Kennedy (my friend) was already a sim-addict, so she convinced me to buy the first game. The rest, well you can guess.

LOL Poor Harley! I tried to get my mom to play then she doused me with holy water and went into prayer mood. When I first got sims 1 I didn't know a thing about it so she was sitting there watching me play and the dude (Bob Newbie) stripped off his clothes to go bathe, the annoying censor thing was there but I swear her eyes were the size of saucers. She was like, "That thing just stripped off all this clothes. I hope you see what you're playing." And despised it ever since.
I want a hubby who plays...okay no because I can see us arguing over CDs. A friend of mine is upset with me because I promised to lend her the base game and never got around to it. I mean, my game loves to crash, there's a good chance I may have to uninstall all 3 games and reinstall them. I couldn't risk lending her the base game. I trust her and everything, it's my game I don't trust.

What would be super cool is if you could play on two computers. Me and hubby use to play Alpha centori(sp?) together. I always beat him But he has 0 interest in the sims. I think he read about 2 of my chapters is all. Instead he sits there playing ruinscape(sp?)

We played on the same computer at one time - I would build the lots & he would make slutty, big boobed blondes and have them become lesbians. Then I decided it was best we had our own separate games. We used to sit side by side - he on his gaming pooter & me on my laptop. He lost interest after awhile, so now it's just me. But the game is still installed on his gaming pooter, so my neices can play. Was that TMI?

I used to go dancing in the eighties - and had an outfit that had little chains across the front. I was 18 yrs old. I would wear it with a little fake leather mini skirt. Think Billy Idol. When I was in my 30's,& a mother of 2 small children, my mom would tell people, "You should see this one go out dancing in her leather whips and chains." I would stammer like an idiot & tell them, "No whips, and the outfit was about 15 years ago!"

Hehehe... Hey, I didn't say anything about it being romantic...lol. I just found it interesting, is all. Poor Harley is upset because he can't get his flight simulator game to act right. He spent LOTS of money on a kick-butt computer JUST to play that game and it hasn't been right yet. It is starting to really get to him. I feel bad for him because I know I'd go nuts if my sims game didn't work well. Hopefully he's getting to the point of narrowing it down though.
