Celebration Stuff

So I went over to the CB stuff board on the bbs and I find something about names getting mixed up. Anyone heard about this? Or had that happen? There was a post there somewhere, but I'm too tired and don't see it now on how to fix this. Scary techy stuff to me I just knew when I started looking I would find something I didn't like the sound of! Why the heck does this game have so many bugs and glithes?!

So anyone with CB had any troubles after installing?

I've never had any trouble with Celebrations, Jo. What do you mean by names getting mixed up? If I were you I wouldn't worry about it. Just go ahead and install it, but make sure to make a backup of your hoods first. Then if something weird does happen, all you have to do is unuinstall and then put your backup back into your game.

Apparantly some people after installing CB and also H and M had sims with mixed up names. Like someone said she had a female sim who after the install had a name change to Adam. Stuff like that. Also something funny with the clock as well.

Ah yea... I think that's happened with a few expansions/stuffpacks. Sometimes it will change the clock format, but I think that mostly happens if you get a version of the game that was wasn't meant for your region or something. Not quite sure about the name thing.

I have Celebration Stuff and H&M and I never had those problems.

My cc isn't showing ugg. It's not in the buy catologe at all Going to try a restart.

Make sure that CC is enabled in your game options Jo. All those addons reset your CC back to the default of not showing up. It's quite annoying. If that doesn't work, try copying your backup sims 2 folder and putting it in place of the one that's there now. It will for sure have all your downloads in it.

First time I forgot to enable, second time I did, it worked after the restart. *phew*

Cool! Then that was the problem then. I have forgotten to do that too now and then. It's such a pain that new expansions feel the need to change your settings that way. Stupid EA...lol

I know it's stupid, but I find that I have to download some new, random cc after each EP or Sp to get my cc to show up. I usually just find a sim on the exchange I like & download it. I have both of those sp's installed & have had no problems like those. Just the cc disappearing. I've got to go back to the M&G thread. That's what I got from Santa, so I have to see what I need to do before putting that one in. I'm glad it seems to be OK for you now!

LOL.. I will check it out when I get time Jo. I just popped in for minute to see what's up. Looks like not too much.

I STILL haven't installed AL or M&G yet. Quite frankly, I'm SCARED of M&G right now. When Crissy had it installed, she lost her 'give gift' option too. I haven't seen anyone else complain of that though so I don't know if it was just her or if it's something that no one else who has it has noticed yet.

Jilly... just BE CAREFUL if you try it. Be SURE to back up your game first so you don't make the same mistake I did. That wasn't pretty...
