Oooh, I want that pic! I found my son a take-off on it called "Dogs playing Halo" and had it framed for him one Christmas. My nephews saw it & had to have one, too.

Actually Holley, the size can be bigger than that, but they only show up a certain size in the game no matter what size they actually are. One of the ones that EA put in there is 861x768. Quite a few of mine are bigger too. The main thing to remember is that they need to be taller than they are wide, of course. I have 300X400 written down in my "Sim Notes". That's the reason I gave those numbers. I am pretty sure I read it in my Prima Guide. That number seems to be working for me. It fills the Easel's canvas perfectly. Jo, I right click on the picture and choose "save picture as" and put it in a folder. Edit the size with a program called Infraview (no idea how it got on my computer but i can't live without it). You can probably use Photoshop or Paint too I am sure. Then I move the edited picture to the "Paintings" folder.

I read somewhere that the pics can be up to 1200x1200 and still show up in game. Believe me... I have LOTS of pics in the folder that are bigger than 400x300, although smaller pics are better if you're worried about hard drive space. Also, when the picture is painted, if the shape is wrong, it stretches or cuts it off and it doesn't look as good as when it's already in the shape in which the sim will paint it. I have had to go back to some pics and edit them to make them work better for me. I hate for a picture to be cut off or stretched out weird. Of course that's just my preference. The only time I've had pictures NOT show up in the game is when they were in the wrong format. I had a bunch of bitmaps in there and noticed I couldn't see them so I when into paint and saved them as jpg's and then they worked fine. BTW Holley... the Prima Guide very often gives misinformation. You cannot always trust what it says. That's probably because it is printed before the game is released and EA reserves the right to make changes in their plans as they see fit.

LOL.... like I said Jo, you don't need small pics. The game will make them fit your portrait. Paint comes with every computer though and is easy to use. All you would have to do is open the pic with paint, choose 'save as', pic jpg or jpeg from the drop down menu, and then click 'okay'. Then you have a copy of the pic as a jpg and you can delete the bitmap if that's what the pic is. Of course those instructions are not for resizing, just for saving to a format the game can read. To resize in paint, you just pic 'resize/scew' and then change the percentage.
