My daughter has been bugging me now for about three days to install Mansion and Garden Stuff on her computer. Finally I broke down and did it. Wish I hadn't! Once the install was complete, she discovered that all her custom hoods were gone as well as her downloads! She also discovered that she didn't have the Ikea Stuff pack yet either so I installed both. Therefore I don't know which one caused the problem. What's the stupid part? You ask.... I, although I ALWAYS usually do without ever having a problem, failed to make a backup before installing! I feel HORRIBLE and want to just crawl into a hole and hide! *sigh* I either need a hug or a good swift kick in the ___ .

Thank you Mae. *sniff* I'm actually more upset about it than Crissy is. I don't know what possessed me to NOT make a backup this time. There's still a backup on her destop of when I installed FT for her, but there's no downloads folder in it now, unfortunately.

Oh no I would never have thought just a stuff pack would do that! Pays to always, always make that backup.

You're so right Jo and like I said, I always usually do. I don't know what possessed me to not do it this time. I have seen people complaining all the time about installing a stuff pack and then losing hoods, cc, etc, but it's never happened to me... until now. I feel so bad about it. Crissy is being a good sport though and is taking way better than I am, which in a way, makes me feel worse...lol. *sigh* Ah well, now I'm back to finding whatever I can for her to at least get her cc back. She so excited too about getting that building pack on her game because she enjoys playing around building houses and stuff. Hopefully I'll at least have it going for her here in a bit.

{{{CYBER HUGGLES}}}}} Did you try the restore, unrestore, download, trick? I know it's weird, but it's saved all my cc lots every time! I'm glad Chrissy is taking it well. I must say, when I lost most of my cc in the Crash of '08 (as I will always remember it), it was actually kind of fun to surf around & get new/replacement cc to fix my hood. You gotta take what joy you can find.

Thanks for the hugs! Nah, didn't try that, but it's too late now. I ended up spending the day yesterday reinstalling all her games. So now she is starting with a clean slate.

I kinda enjoy that too, it's like I don't mind loosing furniture but I'm mad as hell if I loose sims in stories. If my game crashes I think i'll flip because I can't replace Kareme...he was born in my game.

That's one thing SimPE is good for. I clone born-in-game-sims all the time! How do you think I was able to upload cutie Donovan? I extracted him with SimPE and re-made him in bodyshop. ;D

Just be careful if you get it. If you mess around with things you don't know about, you can really destroy your game with that utility. ALWAYS make a freshe backup of your hood before playing in there just in case.

Yeah, I never downloaded SimPE because I keep feeling like I'm going to screw something up!
