Tina, is there any way that you could (PRETTY PLEASE) help me with my TS3 game? I had the save error code #16, and I fixed it temporarily...by deleting my Mods folder (edit: moved it to my desktop), but I'd like to play with my special stuff in there? Is there anyway you could help me figure out whats going on so I could fix it?

Sure, I'll give it try. So tell me, what exactly is going on with your game now? Is it playing alright without the mods folder? I guess I need to know what mods you have in order to figure out what could be breaking your game. Also, have you tried installing the latest patch that is supposed to fix error code 16?

Sorry, I didn't see this, I've been talking to jo all afternoon and watching the XMas lights put up. ;D So, anyway, do you want me to copy all the stuff I have in my Mods folder into a word doc or something?

You didn't answere my question if you've tried installing the patch that is supposed to fix error code 16. What I really need to know is what hacks you have, although I may not know jack about them...lol. The main thing that messes up a game is having mods installed when you patch or install an EP. You should always remove them to do that. Also, you didn't confirm if your game runs fine without the mods folder in.

I have absolutely ZERO hacks. And no default replacements. I'm afraid of the new patch. You said it made games go kabloowey. D: Oh, and it runs fine without MODS.

I'm running the new patch and all is fine with my game. I don't have the very latest patch that says it fixes error code 16 because I've never had that problem. If you have WA, which you do, then you already have the latest patch before the error code 16 fix. My advice to you is, save your whole sims 3 folder in your documents to your desktop, just in case. Leave your Mods/packages folder on your desktop, NOT in your game, and then install the patch. If something does get worse, you are protected by having saved your games. If it runs fine without Mods, then there must be something in your mods folder that is making your game act stupidly. Do you have any hair from XM Sims? Jill said she thinks she had bad hair files from them that were messing with her game.

Crud! I just got things running right and now there's another patch? That really blows! I guess I better yank all my stuff back out and grab it, even though I haven't had an error 16. I suspect those patches send something down the line to you whether you actually download it or not. I sure don't want to get caught short again!

No, I haven't gotten any hairs from them. I've gotten all my stuff from MTS, or The Sim Supply. No where else?
So, should I install this latest patch, then?

LOL@Jill! I didn't bother with that last patch yet because I'm not having that problem. I'm going to lay low awhile. Jill, I think that patch may be more directed to people with WA, because it seems they are the ones getting error code 16. Yeah, Sawyer, do as I said and backup your stuff and then get the patch. Hopefully that will fix the issue, but if not and it happens to break something, you won't have lost anything.

I'm not worried. Something's already horribly wrong if you can't play your game without error code 16 happening just because you have a bit of cc in your game. Nothing REALLY traumatic can happen if you've backed up your files anyway. If the patch sucks worse than not having it, a reinstall will fix it right up and you can put your stuff back in. Hey, I'm not an all-knowing Guru here. I don't give out ANY advice that I wouldn't try for my own game if I was having trouble. Sometimes, it's all just trial and error until you find what works.

Try running the game without it first and see what happens. I have another question for you: Did you download and install the Resource.cfg file from MTS and put it into your Sims 3 folder in your program files? You need that for the mods to show. Also, what does error code 16 do exactly? Does it stop your game from loading, or does it make it crash, or keep it from saving? I'm curious and forgot to ask earlier...lol Bottom line though: Try out the game vanilla before installing the mods again.

Error Code #16 does not allow you to save. If you click the 'Save' button, it will come up with the little saving thing, but it won't finish, and says ERROR CODE 16.
No, I did not, or at least I don't think so? My game already had Resource.cfg inside...maybe I did install it? I know my mods were showing before. Just look at my houses post.

Well, installing the new expansion may have done something to the one in your game. Hopefully you don't need a different one with WA installed, but I'm going to attach the file for you.
Just put it inside your sims 3 folder in the program files when you put your mods folder back in.
Also, I forgot to ask you if you see a file inside your sims 3 folder in your documents with .bad after the name of one of your saved games. You should check for that and let me know if you have one. I had one after I had a save problem a little while back before patching.
