I am learning more about the game as it goes on.
I have 4 households now. It seems you start each new family in a new town by default, so when you save the game you have to rename the town so it doesn't overwrite the first one.
Another way of playing is to go into Edit town mode, then you can start a new family. Your previous family continues to age though... haven't tried to turn off aging.
I started a sim and got her woohooing and married... and started her breeding lol
She and her sim hubby have 5 infants (3 boys, 2 girls) I have to keep a babysitter in the house constantly so mom and dad can sleep! No way to hire a nanny in this game that I can find yet. I am tempted to make an old lady sim and merge her with the household so I have an extra set of hands... but then I'd also have an extra set of needs to manage.
My rocker Chick has been neglected whilst I managed this busy household.
I'm having fun playing the game! never did it before with the sims 2... so it's new for me.
I made some stuff that is on the exchange if anyone is wanting to download it... it's incredibly easy to download and upload to the exchange. I'd like to figure out how to upload to some other sites eventually. You can look it up under Knyghtmare
If you haven't already gotten the game, I say give it a go, I had an effortless install and game play is smooth. :-)

Yeah, we wanna see pictures! ;D Hey, so how does the babysitter thing work? Do you just hire a random babysitter instead of a nanny? Thanks for your insight into the game, Knyghtmare. I'm looking forward to hearing more when you learn more.

it's a babysitter no nanny yeah! LOL but I hired one only with the other game so I don't know really how it works. All I remember is the babysitter isn't tracking a schedule ... but they definetly are better than the silly ts2 nanny!! you got 5 kids in the same house?? wow it takes forever before they give birth and before the baby becomes a toddler so I only had 1 kid (well now they have 3 because they got twins but I didn't play since the girl gave birth ... but lucky me no triplets so far!!)

Nice pics Kim! I just my simself her first woohoo with her smexy cop and she asked him to break up with his finance. As it turns out, she is one of my co-workers and now we are 'old enemies'! The bum also has commitment issues.

Hey now... you must not have seen mine then! Mine are pretty darned clear and beautiful...lol Speaking of game play.... how long does it take to become best friends with someone? My girl has done everything in her power to get this dude to be best friends. They're woohooing like crazy, etc and she still isn't best friend with him and there is no option to 'go steady' or to even ask him to move in. I'm not using money cheats, so she can't afford to buy anything good and I'm hoping to move the dude in so that they can buy some nicer things.

is the guy a maxis made?? because if he is I think you'll wait forever for that stupid "move in" option ... I know I waited forever until I discovered you actually have to do it yourself ... stupid thing ... talking about discoveries I discovered yesterday that my neighbors were aging LOL I didn't know about that at all! I had the shock of my life to see Mortimer Goth as a teen even though I never played with him.

Oh sure! That's one of the things some people don't like about The Sims 3. The world around you grows and changes while you're playing your house. One of the stupidest things is that single people wind up having babies! I have have another simself living with Crissie's simself in Riverview and we both are engaged to EAxis-made sims who were single when we met them. Next thing I knew, my guy had a baby! Sort of makes me wonder what he's been up to behind my back! Oh... I FINALLY got the guy in the other town to move in with me, but we have never become best friends. I kept using romantic actions with him over and over and I was finally able to ask him to 'go steady' and then get engaged. I did it by using romantic actions over and over until the options came up. I also learned that in order to become 'best friends', you have to use friendly actions over and over until it happens.
