I'd probably love making patterns, since I really like to do that type of stuff.

I'm definitely more of a downloader than a creator. If you make it, I will download it!

lol...hey, I'd make it for you to download it I'm bad at downloading stuff, too picky perhaps. I suppose I know exactly what I want and don't settle for something less. If I do get Sims 3, you can be sure I will be making patterns, lots and lots of them Speaking of getting Sims 3,

LOL... we make a good pair then. I'm pretty picky about downloading too. I won't just download anything. It has to be very close to what I want, or I'll just pass it by. If I didn't feel so brain dead these days, I might consider trying to create a pattern.

I'm definitely picky, I have very little cc except for hair and default replacements. I have some though looked like what I wanted in the photos, but not so in game, that I intend to recolor, edit meshes and/or alphas, etc, but I just haven't for a few months since my eyes hate starring at the screen for lengthy times.
Apparently Sims 3 runs just fine (perhaps a little laggy) on similar computers to mine, so I may end up getting it and trying it out on this computer. But even if I do, it'll be several weeks yet I'm sure...driving to town is a headache! I only go to town if I have several things I need to get. I'd likely not start making patterns until after summer though so I can see properly. I've got tons of ideas already of things I'd like to do, based on what I've seen that is available so far.

Man, I really do wish I had the patience for creating cc. I just don't think I have the head for all that stuff. Talking about editing meshes and alphas and all that jazz makes my eyes cross.

Tina, I thought that too, but after the first time I had made something, I was totally hooked, it looked harder, than what it actually is,meshing & the bit maps are the hardest part for me,but I am getting better at it(I actually learned by fixing up other meshes that had gaps, did not sit right or had holes in them!),most people just do re-colors of other peoples meshes(with their permission off course!) & it is fun & a bit like how you put your pic's together, I like to also do hand painting, there is many ways to do re-colors! & it is a lot of fun, plus you end up with something that you like,or you are proud of!

Heck, I wouldn't even know where to begin to make a new mesh. There are times I wish I could, though, when I can't find what I'm looking for to download. All that stuff really confuses me!

Hey Lynda, I answered this somewhere else, but you must have missed it. What kind of graphics card do you have? I read on the official site that most people who can't see roofs have incompatible graphics cards. The solution is to upgrade yoir card to one that is compatible. forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/33653.page
