The Sims3?
I'm so excited and impatient, I wish there was a way to sneak into EA's offices and steal a copy of the game...okay, maybe stealing is extreme, but I am so looking forward to the game. I've been reading on the forums on The Sims2 site and people seem to have mixed feelings about The Sims3. Wonder if I'll even play TS2 after the release of TS3?

Hey Valpre! Glad to see you posting! ;D I'll more than likely move this thread into the Sims Discussion forum though so that it doesn't get lost in our babble that goes on in The Coffee House. Actually I am looking forward to The Sims 3, but I am NOT going to rush right out and buy it. First I need to know what others think and to be sure I can avoid the whole Securom mess the way I have with The Sims 2. I will wait and see what folks like you have to say about the game first.

Yeah, I am with Tina. I think I am going to wait to see what everyone thinks My first impression wasn't very good. I don't like what they look like. i just can't see spending all that money (I would need a new computer probably to play. So I gotta add on that cost as well) when I like my Sims 2 just fine.

I really don't know. While I think the photos of the inside of houses and the neighbourhood look awesome the sims themselves look terrible. There heads are like round blobs of playdough! I thought it was suppose to be better graphics? To me the sims look way worse. I am also concerned over the whole neighbourhood aging thing unless there is a way to turn houses ages off. Thirdly does the 3 install thing still stand? We all know how that works with sims, you can end up needing to install many times! Do I then have to buy the privilege to reinstall my own game. Come on. I also here it's going to be terribly expensive and take 6.5 gb to install! It would have to be able to be installed without uninstalling any Sims 2 stuff for me. For me it would have to get cheap and my computer would have to be very good. Oh yeahI forgot that sucyRom stuff. Oh well I already had to uninstall Roxie to make my game play so I guess that has already stuffed mine up. We are looking at getting a new computer with 500 gig. Sims 3 with aging off option, sims that look like sims and no Sucyrom, and unlimited installs and I would buy in a flash.

I read the three time limet on Boolprop. I am not sure if that was something EA dropped or not. Even if you don't have to pay, I don't want to have to email someplace to get some code either. If i buy it I want to be able to install and uninstall as I need too.

I'm not sure, but the three installs may be on different computers in your house. I really can't see them stopping you from reinstalling if you need to. Like my Microsoft Office, I can install it on three computers, but that's it. It knows if you try to install it on a fourth and it won't let you. But if you uninstall from one, you can install it on another computer just fine. Of course with EA, who knows? I am definitely interested in learning more about that aspect of it.

I think the limit is only with online downloads. because you have a limit of download and of time. If you want your game to be available to download for more than 6 months you have to pay. I think it's 5$ for 6 months more.

Chances are that you can buy a new copy really cheap now. The only way know of to get it for free is to use a torrent site and unfornately I know not the first thing about that sort of thing. Doing a google search or going to moreawesomethanyou.com and doing a search may help ya. That site is LOADED with pirates!

I don't know, there are plenty of people spoating off on Boolprop and I havn't seen any hint that it's to do with online downloads. www.forums.boolprop.com/viewtopic.php?f=244&t=36628

I could be wrong, but I think everyone is taking the three installs thing all out of context. I don't see how they could legally charge you for installing your game on the SAME computer or a new one because your old one died or your game gltiched beyond repair.
I honestly believe it means that you can only have it installed on three computers at once and in order to install it a fourth time, you'll have to uninstall it from one. That would most definitely keep people from lending it to friends, etc and that is what EA is after. They want your friend to go buy the game just like everyone else and not be getting to use it free because you loaned it to them.
Actually I can't say I blame them for that because they are a company trying to make a profit. It's how Microsoft Word works. Right now I have it installed on my computer and both my daughter's computers, but I cannot install it on my laptop because the three installs are already in use. But I have uninstalled and reinstalled a copy several times on the same and different computers without any problem whatsoever.
