Whenever I read a good book, I'm usually good at writing, I've noticed that. Alot of the time whenever I have to wait for the game to load I'll start reading a book.

Once I sit down to read a book though, I don't get anything else done until the book is finished if it's good. So... I have to wait until there's not much else of importance on my plate in order to sit down and read it.

Man, I must be the greatest post killer of all time! Can you tell I am feeling a bit nostalgic tonight? There is sometimes something to be said about 'The Good Ol' Days'.

I'm just happy with have no rules about old posts. ;D
When I'm not simming or trailing around boards or reading sim stories I am mostly homeschooling and cleaning house. Blah. I normally go clean the kitchen while my game loads.

Oooh, good thread to bring back Tina, I had no idea this one was here!
I agree with your post of 2008, I read a lot, but it has to be fitted around everything else. When I was younger it was 1 or 2 books a week, but now I usually only read in the mornings or while my sims game is loading. I'm currently reading some books from the series of medieval stories by Elizabeth Chadwick. Yay for love in the 1100s! ;D

I have a new James Patterson novel sitting in my library just waiting to be read - but I have reading of a more serious kind to do at the moment - boring stuff - law reports - study material etc - I am writing an exam next Thursday

Hopefully you can get back to the fun stuff soon! To jump on that train, I, too, am usually reading or writing for my writer's group if I'm not simming. Not much free time for anything else, but maybe vegging in front of the TV later in the evening.

Haha... yeah, I was feeling all nostalgic yesterday so I went poking around on the earliest pages of this board and decided to drag up this one. I sure do miss the thread starter of this topic. She was one of my earliest 'inspirations' from the BBS. Too bad more of those don't come around more often to give me a push to get writing again. I think I really could use that right now. Maegnas is also another old 'friend' I'm missing. She had some pretty fair writings as well with her unique style. I'd give her recommendation if she was ever around to see it. lol The real bummer is... I'm 'not simming' most of the time now. *sigh* One of these days I am going to change that. So let's see, what am I doing these days? 1. Trying to keep this place going. 2. Thinking about reading people's stories instead of actually doing so..lol 3. Thinking about finishing my story instead of actually doing so. 4. Going to and taking my mom to various doctors' appointments. 5. Feeling bummed out because my babies are all grown up and barely need me anymore 6. Watching the weeds take over my yard instead of getting off my rump to go pull them. 7. Wishing I had a million dollars and dreaming what I'd do with it if I did. 8. Sitting here writing ridiculously long lists about what I'm doing these days!

It's really not all bad - twice a year for 6 weeks I have to put my head down and really prepare for exams - I study throughout the year so by the time it is exam time I'm sort of prepared already - I know, I'm such a nerd As for the rest of the time: I help my son (9) with his homework - trying to make him adopt my study methods (that's not going so well, but I refuse to give up) I spend alot of time with my mom (we are best friends) - she is kind of lonely right now - my dad is in Madagascar at the moment working on a project. I work as a paralegal - so I don't have much time (or energy) during the week for anything else Love to decorate - and re-decorate my home (amazing what a little paint can do to a room) Love to cook (especially baking - I have a very sweet tooth) Watch television (but really not at the top of my list or fun-things to do - I paint (not very good at it - yet - but we try - it's fun) Read: James Paterson and Patricia Cornwall (CSI-type novels) That's all I can think of at the moment

I feel for ya, symphony! I've sat here for about week, watching my poor daughter write paper after paper for her final exams. She finally took her last final yesterday, so now she has been playing the sims 3 all day today!

When I am not simming I am usually doing a lot : ~ In the kitchen cooking...I loooooove to cook! ~ Playing in my band with my children...my daughter is great on the boom guitar...and my son can play a mean pot and pan set...and I sing on the mop! ~ Photoshop - I am always in photoshop messing around with pics I take over the weekend, I am big into photography as well. ~ Reading...I like a good book every now and then, even if it is Dr. Suess and Thomas and Friends . ~ Writing...my brain is always in overdrive and I am constantly writing, whether its brainstorming my next chapter for a sims 3 story...or poetry, always have my pen and paper handy!

Ooooh I can't wait for that final paper - I too reward myself with a lock-down coupled with a sims 3 marathon everytime I finish a semester exam - bliss
