One of these days, I'm going to sit down and actually remind myself of what it's like to read a book again....lol

Lol, Tina.
I'm a sucker for books, I try to spend at least 10 hours a week reading. But doens't always work out that way. My favorite authors are Edward Lee, Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I love horror/suspense books.

OMG, Stephen King and Dean Koontz are my two favorite authors! I love them, love them, love them! ;D I've never heard of Edward Lee though. I may have to check him out. Mostly these days, I do all my reading on the internet. I've been struggling to catch up on reading the stories to which links are posted on this site. I feel it's part of my duty here to read them all and make comments. I don't want anyone to feel like no on is reading their stuff that's posted here.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one! Heck Jo, you're ahead of me. I don't even read magazines, unless you count the ones you leaf through while waiting in the doctor's office! ;D

I'm not so sure if you'd like Edward Lee at all, he writes about hell... It's actually a whole world and city and it's really interesting, but quite graphic and has strong sexual content at some parts. Nevertheless, he's a good writer. My fav series by him is the Infernal Series.
My fav by Dean Koontz is the Frankenstein series and The Odd series

I like graphic! Nothing wrong with sexual content either. Some things King writes is pretty hellish and graphical in other ways too. At least his language isn't always the cleanest, for sure! hehe I don't think I've ever read those series by Koontz though. I'll definitely have to check those out. I also enjoy a good John Grishom novel. Anne Rice is right up there too because I love all things Vampire, even though I have yet to read the famous, 'Twilight' series. I think I'll probably go see the movie first, even though I have the first two books of the series tucked away in my closet.

I'm not interested in reading Twilight at all *ducks from incoming tomatoes*
I'm not interested in teen vampire romance that's a cliche story. Eww...

Actually I have never heard of teen/vampire romance being a cliche until it got started going around the bbs. ALL vamp stories I've ever seen or read before twilight (and Buffy) pretty much involved adults and the romance was usually one-sided with the male vamp desiring to make the female victim belong to him. Therefore that aspect of it doesn't bother me any. Heck I'd never even heard of Twilight until I saw it mention 20,000 times on the BBS. That's what got my curiousity up. So, Stephanie Meyer can attribute at leas ONE sale of her series to the sims 2 website!

Her book is a cliche teen love story. The typical thing where the girl falls in love and blahblahblah.
Buffy was cool, ok? Not stupid teenage love stories. Eww. I prefer to read books that stimulate the mind and are not written for the 13-16 year old mind set.

My daughter was nuts about Buffy! At first I thought it was really stupid, but then I got into it. But hey... Buffy WAS in love with a vamp (Angel) and she was a teen. Although it didn't turn out that they were together in the end... bummer, Angel was HOT! He's one reason I like to watch Bones. I tend to judge things for myself. I don't let others opinions and ideas sway me too much without a bit of investigating on my own. Once I finally read this Twilight thing, then I'll have seen for myself what it's all about. Besides I know a couple of people in their thirty's that like it so I wouldn't exactly call that the 13-16 year old mind set. Or would I? Though quite frankly, I'm one who typically dislikes those movies that are considered 'chick flicks' and most romance stories in and of themselves are rather cliche, mushy, and down-right stomach turning to me anyway. I love the idea of a good romance, but in my heart I'm a cynic and know it's all bullcrap anyway.

Let me know how it is Tina, I'm going to trust your opinion on it. I've seen at least half the girls at my school walking around with it, I don't trust their opinion on how "magical" it is.

Well I bought it, Sarie, so I'm definitely gonna read it... someday. Heck I have had it for a few months now just sitting on my closed shelf. Been busy doing others things, especially trying to pump out a story of my own.
