This is just something I wrote when I was bored. I thought it turned out AWESOME. I found it in my desk drawer with all the cluster and stuff.Anyway, here it goes... Something We Humans Will Someday Regret Last night I lay in my bed listening to the crickets outside my window. They chirped in unison, like one giant cricket hiding somewhere in the reeds. It occurred to me that the crickets have achieved a perfection we humans will never attain. We sing-each in a different key.Our voices interject our own views and opinions. Despite our attempts to achieve harmony with metronomes, pitch pipes, and so forth,we fail to achieve harmony with one another. Unlike crickets, humans have grown apart, our natural instincts completely forgotten. We often label this condition uniqueness-a pretty word for such a sad thing. We are so intent on individuality that we neglect to maintain and nurture relationships with one another. There would be dire consequences if everyone continues to grow apart, forgetting connections with the world and each other. Can't we all just "chirp" together like the crickets do. Maybe that's why the crickets doesn't have fights or wars like we do.It's a very sad thing for us humans. We shouldn't have grown apart like we did. AMEN!!!!Did you like it? I'm trying to get this in the news paper, you know, to try to make people realize what they have done. Heck! Maybe the president will read this someday and stop the wars(unlikely, I know) but still,it would be awesome if a little poem like this would stop an ENTIRE war. Thanks for reading if anyone did.sorry about the typo on the title. I was typing too fast

That was very nice Haily. The idea and concept is very deep, but not really practical in reality though. I very much enjoyed reading it. It's quite possible we could learn a little from the crickets.

What a nice story Haily. It reminds me of this part in "The Man who would be King" when Merlin asks Arthur if he would rather be an ant or a goose. It was one of my favorite parts on that book. FYI: The Disney animated Story "The Sword and the Stone" was loosely based off that book.

The cartoon is actually kind of fun. I like it a lot. the book is very HARD to read, at least for me it was. If you like the Aurthur Legend it is worth the read.

;)Crickets are a bad metaphor for me, as here in OZ they turn feral all at once(they become agitated all at the same time!no-one knows why?)I have been in those plagues! they swarm & eat everything in sight & if you have to go outside they cling to you all over!the worst is your hair!

I am so glad I didn't read this before I went to bed last night! Just the thought of all those bugs, makes my skin crawl!

;)Yes, & they change as the get aggravated, they still have their spiky legs! which makes them so hard to get out of your hair(that time my hair was at butt length & it was my first encounter with the critters,I learned very quickly to tie my hair up & wear a beany or scarf!)they are not as bad as a bush fire but after they have been through it looks the same without the black,as they eat everything in sight!

I think what Haily was trying to do was compare on how they communicate with eachother from how we the humans communicate. But sorry Karima, that's pretty funny!
