Dear Tender Shepherd
I'm all alone
My husband's bright smile
Is gone from this home

The fire burns low
The entire house
Is awash in it's glow

Dear Tender Shepherd
The carolers come
I hear their quick footsteps
And their merry hum

Dear Tender Shepherd
Please grant your sheep
A wish that's so sacred
A prayer she holds deep

Dear Tender Shepherd
It's snowy and cold
Protect my husband
And his patrol

Dear Tender Shepherd
Allow my one child
To dance with her father
On this noel tide

Thank you Dear Shepherd
My wishes you grant
My chaild can hold tight
To her wartime champ

His smile I can see
As we embrace I feel so happy

For this Christmas gift
In answering my prayer
You were so swift
