I can't breath through my nose at all, I did a steam with Vics at 8.30, didn't help much. I sprayed it at 10 with synex stuff and that helped somewhat for 2 hours. I've even resorted to trying saline (salt in water) with a syring up my nose But I may have done it wrong. Hasn't helped. I can't sleep and feel terrible. My throat is a bit constricted too. I think if I get any worse I'll be waking my dh. I'll just go back to bed for a bit. It's pretty useless.

So sorry Jo! I know that must suck...being sick and having to take care of the kids too. I take Nyquil @ night when I am sick. It knocks me out and I am able to sleep a bit. I've used the Saline rinse. It's good, if the liquid can penetrate all the nastiness.

My kids are alseep Holley, it's the middle of the night. But thanks anyway. I don't think on the maybe half hour sleep I've had so far that I'll be looking after the kids tomorrow. I'll make dh stay home. I'm going to see if I can get a Dr appt, although that is horrible here as well. We have a huge Dr shortage out here in the country.
I tried to make my own rinse from what I found online and think I made it wrong. I did half tsp in a cup then read later that should have been a pinte and the second said cold water blah not warm like I used. I may have made it worse even.
I added some more water and it's now cold and that has helped some on one side.

Either a Dr or start to feel better. I think waiting rooms are perfect places to pick up more bugs. Since I'm on here at 10 to 4 in the morning what are you doing today? If I'm going to be awake for awhile I might as well post.
Or not as noone isposting... crawls back to bed for a awhile.

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick, Jo. I've heard conflicting information about salt-water too, I know it should be warm, but not sure about how much salt to put into it. Hope you feel better soon, now I really am going off to bed to sleep off my heat-headache.

Thanks guys. I did get a couple of hours sleep. The salt stuff seemed to work on one side and it was cold. Typical internet with conflicting advice. Chicken soup Thanks Val.

Warm water helps to dissolve the salt. My sinus doctor gave me a recipe when I was having so much trouble with my sinuses several years ago, and it called for warm water, but not hot, because if the water is too hot, it can cause more trouble.

We used water from the kettle to disolve it and then added the cold. I've been sniffing the stuff all day. It finally seems to have worked for a while on one side. Still no nap. My daughter is crying over the hand held game that Steve wont let her have. How can I nap with that going on. I'm going to have a cup of coffee and inhale some coffee steam.
