LOL@Jill! Well, hopefully you won't fall! Yeah, I have several caps. In order to have one, they grind the original tooth down to a nub and then place the cap on top. It's just like a real tooth, though, so I don't see that it really matters. I got my first caps (gold) when I was twenty and I still have them. As a matter of fact, the first time I ever saw a dentist is when I was twenty. I never had any cavities as a child like my brother did and my parents didn't believe in dental health maintenance unless something was wrong, I guess. When I finally did go for a checkup, it was discoverd that I had two cavities that only looked like tiny black specks on the surface, but ran deep. He filled them, but the wall was so thin after getting out all the bad that my teeth broke off while I was eating... hence the caps. Stupid things never did hurt me to alert me that anything was wrong either. I don't have any health insurance of ANY kind. This one thing that makes it so bad that I have all these doctors I have to see. It's coming straight from our pockets and it gets pretty rough sometimes. But, when I restarted my dental health maintenance, I ended up getting a loan from a place that lends money for health purposes because I'll be damned if I want to be that old lady with no teeth...lol, especially after seeing what DH goes through with his dentures... ack! lol
