Now I think I know what The Beatles meant by that because I believe I'm having one! First, I wake up at 4:00am for no discernible reason. Then, I am unable to take a nap because I have to drive to a doctor's appointment an hour from my home in the afternoon. When I get there, I have to wait almost two hours before being seen by the doctor. Then I almost have a nervous break-down in the office because I go off on a tangent about that fact that NO ONE seems to be able to do ANYTHING to make me better, or even tell me what is causing some of the things going wrong with my health. (Actually, I just shed a few tears, but... how embarrassing! lol) Then they order a blood test, which I have to wait about another forty-five minutes just to allow them to take my blood. When I am getting stuck, it's by a kid who looks like he just got out of high school. It seems he has skills to match because now I have a hideous bruise on my arm where he stuck me. Anyhow, I guess you could say it's been a hard day, now it's night and I'm feeling pretty tired and annoyed. But, at least it's over now and I have my coffee in front of me! ;D lol Thing is... I could sure use those Eight Days a Week, The Beatles sing about in another tune. Then I'd at least have half the week to myself...lol. I took my mom to the doctor yesterday, I took myself to the doctor today, I'm taking Mom's dog to the doctor tomorrow, and I'm taking Mom to the dentist on Thursday! If nothing goes awry, at least I have Friday to myself!

I have been in your situation, 2002 I said or should I say screamed at the Doctor 'NO MORE' I was the side of a barn & waddled around because of the continual experiments of drugs, mostly steroid based, Cortisone injections that are suppose to take the pain away for a week, lasting ONE day! All the weight was making the pain of movement, ten times worse, I am not proud of this period of my life, my DS was looking after me, I could not walk or even move without his help, I constantly asked him to put me out of my misery,I recall saying "Some-one just shoot me!" In the end I said no more, I will take one drug, a pain killer & that's it! I found out later that it was a combination of three things all in the one area, & I am on a drug that was only made for a short time use! I have been on them for seven years, & it is the only reason I am able to walk, I am also my old weight, after all the tests & drugs, once that all stopped my weight went back to normal! the Doctors are still vauge as to what is wrong with me! but I am still in pain but with the help of the pain killers I can walk again & do the normal things in life, to look after myself! I was sick of being a guineapig! I really wonder why they do all those years of study to become a Doctor, when they can not even tell you what is wrong with you!!!!!!! But I was turned into a monster, because of the experiments of drugs, I was aggressive & was picking fights with strangers, because of the doctors, my whole personality had changed, my middle son did not even recognize his own mother in the street! He walked straight past me,it was not until I spoke, he recognized me,(I have never been fat before, it was an experience I could have lived with out!) he knew my voice! thank goodness! I am so glad I asked for results & when I did not get them, told them so, but I have a feeling that it was the drugs that asked because I am a mild person & am slow, I mean really slow to anger! So I do know how you feel, & I do totally sympathize with you, I just hope they find out what is wrong without shoving more drugs on you!Doctors love to give band-aids instead of finding the cure!

Wow, Karima, thanks for sharing all that. *HUG* Yeah, it's the Prednisone that can make you mean and aggressive at higher doses. It happened to me too. It's also the Prednisone that makes you gain weight. No one even bothered to tell me of the side effects when they put me on the stuff. It's most definitely been a LONG day and I'm pooped and about brain dead...lol. It won't be long before I'm tucked away somewhere in Dreamland for the evening.

Goodness *Hugs* to you both! My pills also have the aggressive making reputation. Luckily for me I am getting away on a half dose and didn't think I was effected that much. Although DH was saying I'm like a cranky bear these days. I'm back from the dentist and have yet more holes. He filled 5 and I think there are 4 more on the other side. My teeth just keep rotting out of my head.

That sucks, Jo! Are you taking Calcium supplements? If not, that may go a long way to help with that, as well as your bones. *HUG*

I do take calcium. I take one pill that's suppose to help if you need more estrogen and it contains calcium. I got on those after I had a blood test to check out my hormones, which I think have been wacky ever since I had Daniel. She, the Dr recons they not out of whack enough for hormone treatment so I take these Blackmores Phytolife tablets. I also take a multi which has calcium. I used to have such good teeth. I didn't even get my first filling until I was 27. Now I'm lucky to have a good tooth in my head.

I take Calcium with vitamin D because it helps it absorb into the body. It has to suck to have tooth problems. It's never been one of my favorite ailments, whether pain was involved or not.

It doesn't help I am scared stiff of the dentist. We drive an hour to see this one because he actually cares unlike some. He always asks if I'm ok as he's doing stuff. I tend to have a bit of a panic attack after he does the needle so he lets me calm down before he starts anything. Even so I dread going back for the next 4 holes. I said to him it was only 6 months ago I had that other work done wasn't it? he says no more like 18. I said it just feels like 6 months! Poor guy, I can't imagine being a dentist. How many people would want to come see you.

It actually doesn't bother some folks to see the dentist. I don't like them either. *cringe* So, like you, when I find one that actually makes me comfortable, I like to stick with him...lol. Does anyone know what is the cause of your problems? It certainly sounds reasonable to me that you are deficient in something for that to be happening. That is if you are using good dental hygiene habits, but it happens anyway.

My theory was it was started by my constant upchucking when I was pregnant with Sarah and then by hormones. Plus I guess pregnancy must have really drained my teeth of calcium I guess. Although I always was a big dairy lover. I was always drinking milk or drinking yogurt. When I was pregnant I had this weird side effect called metal mouth with excess saliva. Really a lot, it was disgusting. I stayed home mostly because I had to spit all the time. Ever since then it's been dryer then normal. So now I drink water a lot. This is why I had the blood work done to see if my hormones were whacky.
I know my diet doesn't help. Too much soft drink and such. But I brush way more then dh and he doesn't get cavities. I saw a naetropath who said my body was acidic and that would aggravate it. We are taking this foul tasting stuff of a morning and have some other stuff to add to our water which is suppose to help that. I know I shouldn't drink so much coffee either. He said that is acidic making.

*hugsfor everyone having difficult days/nights* Jo, my mum has similar problems with her teeth and has some capped and a lot filled, although she drinks tea not coffee. Calcium should help but it sounds like you had real trouble when you were pregnant. Hope the dentist can do something to help out. I'm one of these people that isn't scared of the dentist, because I've had everything happen and been through it so nothing they do now can scare me! But my best friend is absolutely petrified of the dentist, luckily her teeth are really perfect, because she hasn't been for 10 years due to her fear of it.

I use to be 10 years between dentist visits as well. I asked him yesterday about capping, but he didn't recommend it. So maybe they have to get worse?

Oooh, going so long between dentist visits is a great way to wind up tooth/gum problems. It happened to me because I've been ten or more years without visiting a dentist as well. Then when you finally go for some reason, you learn you have more problems than you thought. Jo, it could be depend on the condition of the roots, etc whether or not they'd recomment caps. If the whole tooth is bad/lose, I guess a cap could either make worse, or maybe just be a waste.

He's pretty big on saving teeth. So he would recommend a root canal over pulling. Which is why I've had 3 of those suckers now. When I asked him about caps he said something about having to take away tooth to apply the cap, he wasn't at all keen. When I went to the dentist after the ten years it was for wisdom teeth. That was when I was 24. I didn't have my first filling until I was 27. I had really good teeth, which is why it was such a shock after I had the kids and they have all started needing fillings and root canals.

I never go to the dentist because I have no dental coverage from my work's insurance. I have bad bone density & he likes to tell me how I will lose my back teeth because my jawbone has lost enough bone mass that they no longer contain the teeth roots like they should. I can't take calcium because it gives me kidney stones. They had me taking vitamin D along with calcium this time, but I still got the stone, so I guess I'm destined to be a toothless old woman who constantly falls & breaks a hip! Lol!
