A simple Thomas the tank engine Duplo train set should not be this hard to purchase!! The only place to not say "Out of stock" "Not be supplied anymore" is the Lego site itself and they want $30 postage!! I nearly bought from an American site, but there P&P looks confusing. In one place it looks like they mail here, but then they say they don't. Well if they flipping well don't anymore couldn't they take Australia of there darn list!! Like before I go through and sign up to there stupid site.

Ugh! If you can get a weight on it, I'll see what it would cost me to send it to you, Jo. My son was a Thomas the Tank engine boy, so I know what a huge deal this would be. He had a brio set (all wooden) and one that was in it's own case that opened up and had the track already assembled inside. (that one was motorized.)

That would be so great Jilly! I'm not sure on the weight, I didn't think it would weigh too much, it's only the push along type, which is why I was looking at an American site to purchase it. We already have some second hand plain Duplo train, but we need a couple more pieces of track to make it join up and be a decent length. I got that as a $15 bargin at a fle market so I can't complain. He likes Thomas and I thought a new complete set would give us some more track and make a great set. lego.allaboardtoys.com/lego-duplo-thomas-the-train-starter-set.html was the site I was looking at. I know the exchange rate is good right now, but it's sure to drop. I'll see if I can find a weight someplace on it. I'll pay for whatever is needed, so long as it doesn't make the whole thing over what it would be to buy here. Wouldn't be much point to that. But here it's about $90 plus $30 postage, it can't get worse then that surely. Edit: I may have found another place with a couple left. Weird, because I know I checked that site before and none showed up then. It looks like their flat postage rate is only $4.99 which is a humongous difference. They are sneakily adding another $8.63 GST tax at the checkout, which is suppose to be illegal ahmm. Legally businesses are suppose to include the GST tax in the price shown, not add it on at the end. So effectively that makes shipping $13.63 which is still way better then $30. But you can see how they rip us off. $49US to $89AUS is daylight robbery. An online exchange rate converts it to $54.66 AUS.

Well, good luck with that, Jo. I'd offer to help as well, but it seems Jill already has that covered. If there is anything else I can do, just let me know.

That's ok, thanks for your offer though. We went with the place in the edit. I must have looked all afternoon so I don't know how I missed those few at that shop. I think if I bought US, then had postage to Jilly, then postage to me it would be about the same price.

Well, I'm happy to know you got it sorted. It's a real pain to not be able to find something you really want to get for yourself or someone else.

We're kind of use to not getting what we want over here, but seeing it all over US web sites who after navigating through the site we find wont ship here. Or Australian shops who say no postage to that postcode. But it's still annoying. We are only 3 hours west, not six! Actually finding a place that has what we want, (Any item be it clothes, books whatever) that will post here at reasonable cost is actually our idea of exciting.
