If they are larger than 150x150 and pop up HUGE in my face, stretching the page! With the code I placed on the board to allow larger avatars, which is explained below, the numbers near your avatar in the modify profile mean NOTHING. YOU must make sure the size of the picture you choose to use as your av does NOT EXCEED 150x150 BEFORE placing the url into the avatar space! I've edited this thread to reiterate what I've already said below, because some members just are not seeming to get it. If you read or pay attention to NOTHING ELSE, at least pay attention to THIS:
If an avatar pops up LARGE on the page. It WILL be REMOVED! So please, take the time to make sure your picture is no larger than 150x150 BEFORE you use it! Have I said it enough times for everyone to not have missed it completely? I sure hope so, because I really do NOT want to have to remove anyone's avatar. Thank you for (I hope) listening.
Size DOES matter!
Hello all! Something here is starting to bug me, so I felt the need to speak to everyone about it. The normal maximum size for avatars on Proboards is 100x100, but I felt that was a bit small, so I installed a code to allow avatars to be up to 150x150.
The code is not infallible and does not always keep the pictures at that maximum size on the first page loading. When a member uses a picture for an avatar that is larger than that, it sometimes blows up to its normal size and stretches the page. Refreshing the page usually makes the picture shrink to 150x150, but it is getting a bit annoying having to do that every few page loads.
Therefore, I am going to ask that you PLEASE only use pics as your avatar that are no bigger than 150x150 from now on. Photos are easy to resize with paint, photobucket, etc.
I really do NOT want to go back to the small 100x100 sized avatar limit, nor do I want to have to start removing avatars from your profiles that are bigger than 150x150, but... I AM going to do one or the other if people keep using humongous pictures for avatars because it's beginning to drive me a little batty. I most definitely do not want to install a code that prevents anyone from having a custom avatar but me just so I can keep my pretty 150x150 avatar instead of going back to 100x100.
Your cooperation on this matter will be GREATLY appreciated. I love you guys, but I do not love your giant avatars!
Note: If you are unable to resize your pic, I will be more than happy to help you with that. Just give me a holler.
