Yeah, it's pretty extreme here, on the longest day of the year the sun doesn't set until 11.30pm, and yet today it was dark at about 4pm. And of course, it's rained all weekend and a little bit today, with gale force winds too! Yippee! [/sarcasm] But I do love England otherwise, really I do.

Wow 11.30pm See we never get dark at 4, which is why I don't think DLS is needed over here at all. We don't get why the other states want it. 5pm would be the earliest it gets dark. I don't see anything wrong with that.

No matter what, it never gets dark here until about 5:30pm. In the summer, it's close to 9:00pm when darkness falls. I actually LIKE having the time changes. It just doesn't agree with my poor system at first!

Same here, it sort of suits winter to be darker, but it takes me a long time to get used to the mornings and actually having the 'extra' hour as it were. So is it darker in the mornings for you then Jo?

It does stay darker longer in winter, but I think it's light by about 7.30am and gets dark around 5pm. I wish it would stay dark a little longer right now, my son woke me up at 5.11am today! I came on here then thought darn this and went back to bed! But you realize it's Spring coming into Summer here. But 5am is a bit early, and if we had DLS it would be 4am like down south. Who wants it light by 4am!

This stupid time change really has me messed up. I should have been in bed by now! lol It actually gets lighter earlier in the mornings here when the time changes in the fall and it gets dark earlier. In the spring, when the time first changes, it darker in the mornings and stays light later at night.

;)Jo, do we live in the same place? (QLD?) as it starts to get light about 5.30am here in spring & even earlier in summer! ;D That's why it would be stupid to have DLS!
