I totally HATE drama, unless it's on a movie or a TV show, but now I feel as if I'm living in nightmarish drama of my very own. That's what I get for having two daughters, I guess. If it isn't one thing, it's something else. My two girls just don't seem to able to get along with each other in their college apartment and what should be some of the best times in their lives is turning into something from the deepest pits of Hell. I'm at my wit's end as to what to do about the situation.

What exactly is the situation? Not getting along is pretty vague. Are you looking for advice, or just venting?

That must be very depressing for you Tina. But like Holley said did you want advice or just venting? I don't know that i would be any help, my two have been at it all day and it's been driving me crazy!

Thanks Holley and Jo! *hugs* Mostly I'm venting because I won't go into exact specifics here since both girls are members and would be embarrassed most likely...lol. Basically, each girl has issues with the other girl's 'routine', so to speak. In short, they are getting on each other nerves, but I can guarantee not as badly as their crap is getting on my last nerve.

So sorry to hear, I have a son that does not get on with his other siblings, I was always hoping that with time & age they would grow out of it! I am not that much help but I do know what you are going through! Also, (just a suggestion!) get them a big notice board for when they are not talking......... so you don't end up being the go-between, they can still 'talk' via the notice board!

Thanks y'all! At least it's good to vent. What is the word that's used for when one murders their children? Whatever it is, that's what I'm going to have to do in order to ever get any peace!

Bratacide! A jury of your peers will never convict! Lol!
Sounds like a case of too many chickens ruling the roost! They wait all their lives to be the head of household, so to speak, and they still have to answer to someone. Like a grown woman living with her mom, or a married woman having her mother in law move in. Each woman wants to be their own boss, and the boss of their home. Throw in the sister dynamic, and there's gonna be friction. They're both smart girls with good hearts. After they work out the logistics of territory, responsibility, and courtesy and hammer out rules they can both live with, they'll be fine.

@braticide! That sounds good to me! lol You have a point there, Jill, but until that happens, I'm edging my way closer and closer to nice, new 'jacket' and a room made of rubber!

That's got to be hard for you AND them. They're used to having a referee, and now they need to work it out on their own. It's got to be killing you not to step in. They have to learn there's no more "older sister/younger sister" and see eachother as equal roommates. Plus, I suspect they're very different, maybe one being more creative and one being more analitical - which means one likes chaos and one wants neatness. They know eachother very well, and they know how the other is. If they expect the other to behave differently than they ever have, they're only disappointing themselves. People are who they are, and all the screaming and yelling in the world won't change that, but it will cause hard feelings. They just have to accept each other's differences and make a set of house rules that will work for both of them. Easier said than done, but like I said, they're both very smart girls, and I know underneath what they're feeling at the moment, they love each other. They'll find a way to make it work. Neither may be completely happy with the compromises, but if they can live with them, that's all anyone can ask.

O.o I don't know if this is exactly the same of the drama your talking about Tina but I remember when I used to yell at Megan for not doing what I say because I was older. Then she would yell at me,"Even because I'm one year younger doesnt make you the boss of me!" and we will just keep arguing until one of us gets too pooped to say anymore Then we talk about something completely random that makes us both laugh. I also remember when I used to say to her,"I wish you would get out and live with the wolves!" Be careful what you wish for because now she really is outta my house Not living with the wolves of course Tina,it's horrible what your dealing with! I'm not exactly sure how to understand how your feeling though because I am not a mother to two daughters that's in,what? College

LOL... yeah, they are in college now, but when they were younger, they most definitely had the same troubles that you had with Megan. Unfortunately, now, they're problems have grown into more serious ones of a more adult level, even though I do think the older one would love to bend the younger one to her will even now. Thanks Jill! You do make a lot of sense, even not knowing all the details of this particular battle.
