Apology from the horse's mouth

Hey guys, I know I haven't been around much. Things have been hectic, and as most of you know I call SWG my sims home, but I like to travel , but anyway, I wanted to post this here for anyone who isn't on my LJ.

As some of you may have noticed, as of this morning SWG is not available because of some things that have happened. I'm just going to direct post from what I wrote at my livejournal:

Okay guys, I'm not going to offer you the whole story or anything like that, I wish I could, but I don't think that would be prudent. But I'm pretty sure everyone on my LJ is an SWG member, and I wanted you to know that the site is hopefully not down for good and I am doing everything in my power to make sure it doesn't go down for good.

Things have been said between Becki, Nicole and myself that have probably been less than pleasant, and I apologize to you all that you are being dragged into this. It's not right and it's not fair and I accept full responsibility for my part in this. I'm sorry, from the bottom of my heart, that you, as members of the Sims Writers Guild, are being punished for the actions of a nameless few.

As for where we're going from here, well I'm not sure yet. I wish I had some answers. I do not. I can't give you too many details because it hasn't all been worked out, but suffice it to say, you will be updated. That is my promise to you. To our new members who joined just as this has happened (not that I have all of you on LJ, I'm hoping you'll find your way to this post) I'm so sorry. This is not in any way, shape, or form, how we wanted to represent ourselves. We are not this drama filled site. I promise you that, and I am hugely embarrassed and ashamed at how we're representing ourselves.

When this site started it was supposed to be a warm and friendly place and I had honestly thought we had created that atmosphere but these last few days and the arguments that have sprung up have pointed to a different conclusion. So again, please accept this as an apology, I can only speak for myself, I cannot speak for Becki or Nicole, but I'm sure that they also didn't intend for you guys to be hurt by this. I know that I never intended for things to go this far. However, I do believe in this site, and what we tried to create with Sims Writers Guild.

I believe that everyone at that site has the right and freedom to express themselves however they desire, whether we the admins or moderators agree with them or not. And I believe that everyone...everyone...at the forum has the right to be treated with respect, whether they are a new member, an old member, or a staff member. I take that belief to heart, and it's from that attitude, and that belief that I am apologizing. I just want you guys to know this, and I'm hoping you won't give up on us. Thanks guys.

I also want to add that I am *not* the only one working on this problem, but I can only speak for myself, I won't deign to put words in another person's mouth. That's the only reason I only mention myself. Not out of some sense of arrogance

So yea, just filling you in. Now it's back to schoolwork for me. This has taken up far too much of my time

I saw your post, and thanks I hope everything gets resolved soon as well. Atm nothing can be done, the only person who has the power to do something isn't willing to do it. We're kinda at a stalemate...but I'm hoping that we can fix it soon

I posted on your LJ too. I don't really know what sparked it all off, only that something by *unsaid name* said something and other *unsaid name* didn't like which seems to have escalated into what we see on the main page. So sorry you are having all this drama.

Wow... I haven't been online much lately, and when I do pop on, I always head here first. I haven't been to LJ lately, so I missed the post there.

I'm sorry you guys are having so much trouble. That really sucks. Hey, you are always welcome to 'congregate' here in the meantime. *big hug*

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. Just to let you know, and so you don't worry, it has been resolved mostly. Now we just have some work to do to get things back to working smooth, lol. But thanks for the concern!

Thanks for the update, Jessie.
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been over to SWG in so long that I was unaware of anything except technical problems over there!
I'm glad that whatever happened seems to be over.
And in a completely unrelated item, just to cheer you up, I understand that in the new World Adventure's expansion pack that your sims can travel to the far east and learn mad ninja skilz.

I am so glad that everything is getting sorted over there, it is a shame that it escalated to this, but unfortunately these things do happen in life!!!!

Jessie, David and I got everything sorted, besides a few wrinkles we have to iron out. Almost EVERYTHING is fixed, Jessie and I know OWN the site and yeah... We're getting there. We're sorry that a lot of you aren't aware of what happened, but we tried to keep it as behind the scenes as possible.

Also, thanks guys for the concern. Like Nicole said, we got mostly everything sorted out, and although it's been a stressful week, it's good to have everything settled
