Thanks Harley, even though my computer really sucks right now, thank-you.
My computer is screwed, so I'm bummed, my sister is insanely mad, and I'm mourning all my lost Sims 2.

Oh no, Sarie! I'm so sorry to hear you lost all that stuff. It's a good idea to every so often back your games up on an external drive so that if your computer goes south, you don't lose everything. That sucks!

Awww.. i had a feeling that was going to be the only way...I'm sorry that there was nothing I could do to help.. How dare Dell make a POS MotherBoard without any P2 connections for mice and keyboards...never in my life heard of that nonsense... You can prevent that in the future Sarie 2 ways....... By adding an inexpensive second hard drive into your computer for just back up folders and storage...(cheapest to do) www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148432Or by purchasing one of these (cost more but far easier) www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136228Now sarie..I know you a youngster... ;D But if you game having two harddrives OR an external one is a MUST......... Now go beg daddy for a backup drive...he is more than welcome to contact me for any advice or help I can give

Teehee, birthdays are coming up. I'll make sure to do that next time! Now then...If you were to pull the HDD out of that dell computer, and put it into the one that you have as a spare computer, then you can access all your files and transfer them to the HDD of that computer where the OS sits..Then put the DELL HDD back into its computer and run the recopvery disk to reinstall the operating system...Then just go get the files you have saved on the other computer thru file sharing network(if you have it set up) or burn to disk any Sim files and or pics you want to put back on the Dell.. its really quite easy if you have the proper know how...

My dad was thinking about that, I only wonder if the spare computer would be able to read the files.

Sure it can read the files...
All you need to do is power the extra HD...It can sit out side the computer ..No need to place it into a bay..The DVD drive will run upside down if it needs to..
Then it just needs a SATA cable or a IDE (ribbon cable ) to transfer data.........

I don't know if someone outside of India can help me. They hold all of the world's knowledge. At least, that's what I THINK he said...

LOL Some things I have learned from dad, such as don't talk computers to him while he is stressed. His work is letting go of some people, so he is really on the edge these past few days. I'm kinda nervous too...
