going on outside right now. *shiver* It's raining cats and dogs and thundering and lightening like crazy! Ack! If we didn't have surge protection, this computer would be off right now.

Ooo a storm? Wow. How exciting! Oh, right, you're not exicted. We rarely get storms on this island I live on, so I'd be thrilled to watch a storm.

I think the last storm I've seen was when I lived in Alberta 5-6 years ago. I'm not really an Island girl, I just live on one.

Living on an island, makes you an island girl... Of course, in your case, you can't be running around in a coconut bra and a grass skirt! lol Don't mind me, I just like to pick sometimes.

lol...no coconut bras or grass skirts for sure. That would be particularly bad during winter, though in this well above normal weather...hmmm. lol
Just because I live on an island doesn't make me an island, at least that is the consensus of the real island people, you have to be multi-generation born/raised in most peoples opinions to be considered one of those. I have no intentions on staying here any longer than necessary.
I hope that storm doesn't last too long and cause major power outages or something else insane.

lol...I often forget that Australia is an island, probably because it's not followed by the word "Island". Easy to forget if you're not there, or never been there I suppose.

Lynda, do you have Pixx on the brain? lol Pixx hasn't been in this thread yet. I think you mean, Nicole. And yes, we sure do get some scarey storms! *shiver* LOL@Sue! You sound like Maegnas. She lives in Canada too and is always talking about getting out of there. Ah well, even though you're not considered an authenic 'island girl', you have quite a few 'neighbors' from Canada here to hang out with. I never think of Australia as island either. lol

That's cause it's SO BIG! But it is most definitely surrounded by water!

Last year we got a horrible thunder/rain storm, it rained liike 2ft of water, no exaggeration, and the thunder was INCREDIBLE. We also got a small tornado here a few years ago.

Where I live, (Festus, Missouri) we get tornadoes a lot. Plus, our whole main street is burning, teenagers lite the buildings, and there's a whole mess of ucky wiring.
