Well I wasn't worried about this, but now I am! Our little town just had the first diagnosed case. A child came back from America with it! His house is quarantined, but now I am scared. I would not have taken my kids out this morning if I had known!

I would say don't worry too much about it Jo. It's an overblown pandemic and most people don't die from it, if they do it's from complications. There was over 70 cases in my province lol.

Jo, don't worry! You take really good care of your children. There not going to get Swine Flu! Just stay inside for a while! I have 6 here, so Dylan and I have been staying inside. I use alot of Lysol! It works, but it takes awhile. Do you rember the super flu? Thats what I had this year! Way worse than the swine flu! So far we have had 8 people pass from swine flu, but the super flu has killed over 100,000 people here! I am lucky I'm strong! People with breathing issues have a very hard time! Do the kids have breathing problems? Dylan has grown out of his, Thank goodness! The one thing I have been doing is feeding Dylan right! I stopped giving him Vitamins! For some reason, he catches a cold when I give them to him. I just think I feed him well!
I would not worry Jo, just keep the kids in the house for awhile! Did your children play with the child that passed?

Far as I know the child hasn't died. Just that his house is quarantined and the Dr are going to him. We're a country town of 20,000, 3 hours from the capital city, we don't expect scary stuff like this out here.
I'm more scared for me because I get infections very easily. It's part of my condition-I think. I only think it because 'infections' is down on the list of things that can go along with my Periventricular Heterotopia and I do get sick a lot. I think I calmed down now. I have such bad nerves it gives me...well I won't say lol you may be eating. I just wish dh didn't have to be all over town. I told him to wash his hands lots.
What is Lysol? I have bacterial hand wash. I heard about the super flu, I don't think that came to our town thankfully. My kids already have colds.

Chances are if you're careful, you have nothing to worry about, Jo since your kids are home schooled. I'm sure your hubby knows to be careful and the kids are safe because they aren't exposed to lots of other strange kids on a daily basis. Kids are the world's worst for catching and spreading bugs.

Lysol is a cleaner brand. They have wipes, toilet bowl cleaner and other stuff... It's just another brand name Jo.

Jo the super flu will kill you! I am strong like that, but I get every cold! Dylan goes to school & George works at Wal-mart! I can't get away from germs, so I use alot of Lysol, it's a disenfectent! I have too! Otherwise I would be sick all the time. I all ready feel that way in the first place!

They say as long as you're keeping your hands washed as often as possible, you should be fine. You pretty much have to be exposed to someone who has it to get it, or travel to a poor (unclean) area like Mexico, where they say it began. The 1st case in Ohio (where I live) was a boy who visited relatives in rural Mexico over spring break. If they've got him quaranteened, you don't have anything to worry about. Your DH would be wise to use that anti bacterial wash as often as he can while he's travelling for business, but as long as he's doing that, you should all be just fine.

You know he's the town locksmith? So he touches door handles all day long and he isn't good about washing his hands! I've impressed it upon him to wash his hands and not rub his eyes. (he has hayfever) It's ok for him he never gets sick. he has such good immunity. Me I get every bug going.

Ahh... The Swine Flu. Id it still called the Swine Flu anymore? Last I heard, doctors were arguing over South American Flu and Mexican Flu. People are freaking out too much about it. It's almost just like the regular flu, and it is treatable. They act like it's... Disease X or something . Anyways, its always good to stay clean, and keep loved ones healthy too.
