ERG, I'm seriously fed up with this kid I'm working with at school. We're assigned partners in my automotive class, and my partner does next to nothing work.
Today he stuck a piece of tape and let the air out of tires in 20 minutes. (That only takes 2 minutes).
Meanwhile I'm suck with everything, I don't mind having the extra work, but I'm tired of him just hanging around and not doing anything, it's like, "get lost if you're not going to do anything."
I just don't want to put up with this anymore, and it's only been a month. Seriously, this kid isn't even interested in the class... It's just my DAILY frustration. If you're going to sign up for the class, DO THE FREAKING WORK. Other kids have noticed my partner's lack of effort and have started to help me out more often. Thank goodness for them
And now thank you guys for listening... Reading my rant.

What a beautiful rant!
Try smackin him on the head and saying "Hey dude, do some work."
I hate those kind of partners, all they do is sit around and do NOTHING! That's absolutely the worst part, they don't do anything at all.

Wow... I feel your pain, Nicole. Stupid people (idiots) piss me off! *HUG* At least you have others who noticed and are willing to lend a hand. Have you spoken to the teacher about your 'helpful' partners ways? Or maybe to the kid himself? I'll tell ya what, I'd HAVE to open my big mouth with a complaint or two!

The teacher knows, he's hoping that working with me will whip him into shape, but the teacher assistant said he would be my new 'partner'. It's just so infuriating to work with that kid.
I've lectured him already on work ethics, and stuff. Like sitting in a CUSTOMER vehicle, with coveralls on. Hanging off vehicles and playing with them, when they're also a customer vehicle... (that's all I ever work on). Grr, he's going to fail the class. And I won't help him. He finally realized, in order to get marks in that class you need to write what you've done for jobs.... DUH, it's just like in real work, to get paid you need to have proof of what work you did.

Tried to tell him that Jo, lol. He just gave me a blank stare and I went off to finish what I was working on. We're (I'm) doing a tune up on a truck, and I wanted him to lable the spark plug wires on the distributor so we (I) could remember what order to put them back on. They're important for engine timing and stuff, and he never did that. -_-
And meanwhile, I was busy adjusting the new spark plugs so that they would work properly, I had my hands full, it doesn't take a lot to number wire 1 through 8. Seriously.
I'm not meaning to complain so much, it's just ARG THE INCOMPETENCE!

Ok this thought just popped into my head.
Does he know what to do? Maybe he has no idea and that is why he's clowning around. Because if he does something he knows he'll look stupid so he's avoiding.

He's told me he doesn't know a lot, plus the fact he isn't interested in automotives either, but still, I tell him EXACTLY what to do, I point to thing, I tell him what to do with it... He clowns round regularly in the halls.

WTF is he doing in that class if he isn't interested in it? That's beyond my understanding...lol Man, Megan... that story of yours about idiots IS bad! I was watching a show called Dumbest Criminals or something a week or two ago and it had a guy on there who robbed two banks. It showed him on the security camera and at each bank, he took the time to change his disguise. He gave the teller a note asking for money and stating that he had a gun. Guess what the note was written on? The back of one of his personal checks! What a dumbass...

That sucks, Nicole. I hate when teachers, thnking the good student will "rub off" on the slacker, stick the good kid with the problem. That's the teacher's responsibility, not yours! It's good to see the assistant sees the problem, at least!
