Does anyone know where to find any recolors of the EAxis swingset that actually work? I found some on MTS2, I think it was, but the stupid things were broken and parts of them flashed blue.  Now I can't seem to find the page again so I can check to make sure I got everything I was supposed to get with them. There are times when a person would like to have just a plain, metal-colored, or maybe even a rusty, aged-looking swingset instead of all those wildly bright colors EAxis bestowed upon us.  |

TSR has a nice one by MSBarrows not sure if it's a free download or not
I think she called it the inner city play set
see if that is what you are looking for

I haven't been to TSR in ages. So I went there and it looks like they've changed it a LOT. I tried searching for MSBarrows and nothing came up. I tried searching for swingset recolors and a bunch of recolored lamps came up...WTF?  lol Well I kept trying and finally found it. It is NOT free, so it doesn't help me any...  I looked at PSMD, but it seems not to be there, but... Thanks anyway Knight! |

Yea, I have that one. It was a Seasons pre-order bonus actually. It's the one I used in my trailer park because it wasn't all shiny and new looking.  I'd just like to have the option of different colors for the orignal Maxis swing set because it looks more like the sort you'd find in a pubic park, only not so brightly-colored and new-looking...lol Well I have a couple of different options now. I found one by Menaceman44 at MTS2. Oh I know it! When I went searching (I never even thought about swing recolors until apartment life and getting other playground equipment), I was shocked that there weren't tons of recolors out there. The thing I kept finding was that tree swing that overwrites the Maxis swing and I didn't want that...lol. That's why I finally dedided to make this thread. I figured maybe there were some recolors, but they just weren't at MTS2.

Oh gosh Jo... Me? Make a recolor? *bites nails* I wouldn't even know where to begin! You can bet though that if there was no one else out there who had already done/could do it... I'd do my darnedest to figure it out!

I am actually trying my hand at a few recolors... I'm learning... even got one to show up in game... but the problem is... I didn't recolor all the sizes... so when you are zoomed out, it looks like the original... it isn't until you are up close and personal that you see my beautiful recolor!!!!  |

Hehe... sounds like something that would happen to me! I don't know if I actually have the patience to do a recolor. I'd probably get frustrated and just wind up with a splitting headache! |

if you like playing around in photoshop, you'd like recoloring
it's kind of fun going to websites and searching for textures that you can change!
I started to recolor that MS Barrows set... using twisted wire and a copper colored foil textures... but I am getting into trouble with the masks/layers... I am waiting for my photoshop to be delivered so I can open it up and watch some of the tutorials. Right now I am just using photoshop elements... which is probably enough... but I like all the bells and whistles!
I'm going to try my hand at some clothing recoloring too. ... eventually...

I'll tell ya what... CS4 has PLENTY of bells and whistles!  Too many for me, in fact! I do enjoy playing in photoshop very much though. I really like that MsBarrows set, although it could be a bit more rusty and aged looking, especially the swings. Before I even attempted recoloring anything, I'd have to immerse myself lots of tutorials beforehand...lol |
