I'd rather do housework than homework. Seriously, metallury is a bit difficult, and it's a 30 level course, (gr 12 course in other words) and I'm only in grade 11. And I have another class that's a grade 12 class too. Oy.

Hey Holley! I know you've posted in a few, but I was referring to the threads in The Coffee House. Everyone is posting in this one in here. Of course I put this thread here for something new to post in. I have to ask, Nicole, what exactly is metallury? I'm guessing it has something to do with metal? Maybe having to do with your autoshop class or something?

It's basically the chemistry of metal, it goes over different alloys, hardness testings, treating techniques, which metal is best for what job. Yeah... It's not too bad. It's for my welding class.

George went to a tech school for automotives, so I had to ask him what that meant, Of coarse a smart ass comment came out, working with metal "he said" Welding, soldering, shaping metal. Hence Nicole, maybe it's a good thing, you do have to fix a muffler. I can almost , take an OLDER CAR apart, and put it all back together again. Pistons, push rods, carbs, almost anything on an older clunker! Now a days, I just tell the youngen how to do it! To old to be crawling under a car. Nicole, did you know that I am 30 years older than you? I was born in 1962! Wow that just hit me !I have forgotten more than you will ever know! The part I loved the most was the timeing chain. When you go to set the marks, remember to click it backwards 1 notch. Works everytime! The guy's hated that I could time it perfect, and they couldn't! Have fun with the muffler, its not hard, its like a puzzle, I just hated getting all that grime & durt in my face. Yuk!

Lol, see, I don't mind getting dirty, and really? 30 years... Yeah that sounds right, you're 1 year younger than my mommy. And she worked with automotives too, used to build drag cars and do stock car racing, my dad did slalom (sp) racing, so I have an auto background. I haven't worked with engines AT ALL. Heh, that's next year. , but that's cool you know how to do that, engine+perfection=must.

The know how, sure does get you by in a pinch! I have been working on cars all my life. My Dad use to restore Corvettes as a hobby! I sure do wish I had some of those cars now! 19 I think 56 all the way through 1969. He kept the 1969, he couldn't part with that one. I was about 12 when he started that one. Funny thing: The only reason I know so much about cars is because somebody needed to hand my father the right tools! Photographic memory, watch out, you lose a good part of that when you get older, Hahn Tina! My goodness are we the oldest 2 on this WS? I love talking to the young one's It's fun, & I love there point of veiw!

"old farts" Speak for yourself, Jo! Thanks for the explanation Nicole. It's what I thought, but I figured I'd make sure. Hey Lynda, I know pretty much ALL those parts you mentioned, even though I've never personally fixed or worked on any of them. It's one thing that has made the men in my life useful... I let them handle it! I know about most of them because when I used to have to drive 'old clunkers', at some point in time most of those parts went bad on me! BTW... NONE of us ladies are the oldest ones here. Harley held that title until his buddy, workingman came along.

In any case, it means I won't be around for a while after this so... post me some good stuff while I'm gone folks! It will put a smile on my face upon my return. I hope you all are having a good day!

I think I am about in the middle of all of you. I am going to be 33 in April. I tend to have more friends and acquaintances that are older. Since my eldest has Autism i meet more older mothers in my day to life anyways. That must be why i get along so well with all of you ;D Tina, I will do my best to fill this forum with tons of funny posts for you to respond to when you get back. I am sorry you have to go get a cat scan today. I am not sure why you need one or why you have to take that horrid Predisone (sp) but I hope it isn't too serious and i hope you feel better soon
