I am new to the forums, I was pointed this way by Tina's Husband when he was helping me with my computer problems (apparently it's Tina's turn!!!) I just reformatted my computer (which is OK, since it was new... and it's a good way for me to get control of my downloads!) I have many of them burned to DVDs ready to transfer from my old computer. It seems I had that evil "program that shall not be named" and it prevented things from booting off my CD drive (at least I hope that was the problem!) So... this weekend I hope to be reinstalling the Sims2 (yes, I am obsessive and have every blessed stuff pack and expansion pack... I even have some paid memberships to sites) My son (9 years old) likes to play too... although he has discovered FPS games and now prefers bloodshed and crashing vehicles... perhaps I should get him a flight sim... how are the crashing graphics in those? anyway... I can ramble incessantly... I hope I can install Sims2 (and then Sims 3) without the "program that shall not be named" I'm a nurse by day, have 2 kids (an 18 year old daughter and the aforementioned son), 2 cats, 1 puppy, and a wonderful husband who is my best friend! (3rd times the charm!) so... hello :-)

Hello and welcome to the forum Knyght! You'll have to excuse me, but I end up shortening everyone's username around here... It's great to have you here and I will do everything in my power to help you get your game back on 'straight'...lol In the meantime, I have posted several very informative threads in the Game Help forum that will hopefully help you to get your game back in order. The 'program that shall not be named'...lol... is not the only thing that can screw up a smooth game. Of course THAT program screws up everything! Anyway, Welcome and just let me know when you are ready!

Hi there...
There aren't to many good crashes in Flight Sims..there are freeware programs that do that, but it takes time to learn to install and set them up properly..But to me its hardly worth the wait....
I see from the DS forums you can not boot off your CD drive...i can help with that....
I just sent instructions in your E mail for some things to try....So look for that...
Good to see you here....

I was born ready and I am very used to being called Knyght :-) LOL! Ya sound like me! The MAIN thing to remember is do NOT run the game with that 'cute little launcher' once you reinstall. If you have the orginal Sims 2 disc from before Securom (oops, I mentioned it...lol) and the disc from Seasons when it was first released, you are okay up to there. They introduced the new DRM with the H&M Stuff pack, but it didn't bother most people because the game still ran from the Seasons executable. Bon Voyage is where the trouble really began. Just let me know when you have reinstalled and I will make sure your game will not break your dvd/cd drives again.

Welcome, Knyght! We're allowed to call SuckyRom by any name we want around here! Many of us have been infected by the game we love so much, made by a company who hates us. If anyone can get your simmies up and running again, Tina & Harley can! There's even a tutorial here that should take the SuckyRom off of your old computer, so you'll still have it, too. We've got a fun group of folks here, who love to chat, sim, and tell stories. (LOTS of good stories, so you won't ever be bored!) lol! Good to meet you! Now let the fun begin!

G'day and welcome to the board Knyght, I'm the resident Aussie on here ;D I have two kids also, my daughter is 7 and my son is 4. Sucyrom first gave me trouble in the form of the freetime patch. I had to uninstall and reinstall and play unpatched, finding fix hacks where I could. Hugely annoying! Where a pretty friendly bunch...hopefully Lynda has caged her spider.
