Oh boy don't I just love it when I get recruited to help with a school project! I do a LOT of the work without getting any of the credit or glory. Several of my daughters' projects have involved presentations on the computer; compiliations of pictures, music, etc. Of COURSE I am the one who winds up putting it all together for them. What fun! NOT... lol It sucks to go buy and download a song only to find out that it can't be converted into mp3 format so I can use it in the project. NEVER again will I use itunes. Those crazy fools have lost a customer for sure. They've changed their formatting so you can't make it run in Windows Media Player which is my preferred music device. *sigh* I ended up having to go buy the EXACT same song from another source in order to use it which caused me to spend TWICE the money for the same song and it's a song I'll never want to hear if I can avoid it. It's an old folk song about slavery. It's okay I guess if you like that sort of thing but... I don't. LOL Oh well... /rant I just felt the need to get all that off my chest. I feel much better now.

This is one reason you use limewire, ares and bear share. You can download the program for free and use them to download music and other stuff for free, although they always beg you to buy their better product...though the prototypes are fine with me. Especially since there's not just a limited time use (muhaha)

Hmmm, I've never heard of any of those programs Pixx. I may just have to do a bit of research on it. But I really don't mind buying the music, I just hate buying it just to have it wasted because I can't use it....

I never buy music anymore, it's such a waste especially if it's only needed for one time.
I have a huge project due tomorrow for Biology with red and while blood cells. I made the red bloodcells out of jello in round molds, lol. And the white bloodcells out of felt, this will be fun.

Ooh that sounds interesting Nicole! You should take a picture of that when it's done and post it for us to see.

That's exactly what I used to do Mae, but now Windows Media Player can't even read it so it won't open it. They've switced to mpeg4's or some such nonsense.

I use Limewire.
Last year, me and my friend tried to get Limewire on my teacher's computer. It didn't work. I only use iTunes for the movies.

about the old folk/slave music...did you try your local library. They usually carry music like that because it's a part of history. You should try there. Call first so that you don't make a wasted trip.

That's what I told her to do the next time. I started to make her do that for the second attempt at downloading the song, but since the project was due today, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy the stupid thing...lol The library will definitely be the first place to check the next time though.

I'm going to go against the Limewire grain. Limewire is old and terrible. Torrents are the best way to download. Look up the BitTorrent client Azerus or uTorrent, and then go to sites like ScrapeTorrent, Pirate Bay, Bit Torrent. Scrape Torrent, you can just type in whatever you want, and it will give you links to different sites that have torrents. (you can also download TV shows and movies ) And if you go to Minninova, or Pirate Bay you can even just look up a genre and find a bunch of songs. So yea, that's the fastest way to download music etc. And it's easier than searching through limewire.
