You could try some unbinned regular coloured facial hair perhapes. I'm wondering if it's because I am filling up my account. Although it loaded up fine to the home album and then I tried to move them to my BACC album and *poof* gone again. It was so annoying and weird. Well Mobacy's in my head is somewhat better then nowhere, right? Esme I read your update before going to bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Played the next family in rotation- the Fire-fighter’s. Imaginative last name for the man I made to be the towns fireman. Forgot to roll the dice and now they have identical toddlers. The second one will have to be randomised as I'm not having that. I roll aspirations on the bat box or change hobbies on the hobby adjuster there until they make sense for whatever that sim is going to do. I still have some jobs that need filling. Mum is going up the newspaper lader and dad is now Captain (cc fireman career) but they are still such a long way from being able to buy the forestation house. They have $23,000 saved and the place is $119,000! Once they top those careers and get out of toddlers it will be none stop digging. I could just give them the money but I like the sims to earn it. Not a lot happened there apart from Ramawhoever (skin 4 sim bin family?) coming to shove him for telescope peeping. Mr fireman has quite the reputation for causing trouble in shops when uncontrolled as well. And while I can't upload any from his house it has let me load up three others... The hard to get gold shopping bag. "You a cop? Bwhahaha!" "You just laughed at the wrong woman" An oldie but a goodie. Nakee proposel cracked me up.

Replying to myself...
So I played most of winter rotation now. My favourite place would be Dave Homeless. Him and his wife and two kids (toddler and baby) live in a park in a tent with a grotty toilet block as the inside area. They are each in the homeless 'career' track made by calista on Boolprop. He's up around $50 a day now and she is making $20. This BACC hood does not yet have nannies available so it's a juggleing act of maternity leave, verses being sick verses simply staying home between the two of them. Anyway a nanny would not come to a park.
Trisha Traveller (sp?) just had natural twins except I lost a day off their house due to it crashing again. Seems to crash rather often when I play apartments. They now have Tina who I aged back so she has 4 days until teen, Troy who is about half way through toddler hood and the twins Tameka and Thomas just infants. Did you know those names mean twins? I thought I'd keep the T naming scheme they came with.

I played the Travellers for the first time the other day, and I was going to keep with the T naming scheme too, confusing as it can get. My brother's called Thomas, my parents always said they were glad there was only one of him; he was a handful as a toddler! The homeless challenge sounds really interesting but hard, I'm so used to my sims bringing in loads of money every day! I made over Ajay Loner and the Travellers the other day, before realised that I only have a tiny amount of male clothing and hair cc, so I'm downloading now.

I'm not player Calista's homeless challenge there although I have tried it. These are my own rules. Put on halved wages and House your sims in a posh flat and that will keep them broke! My gosh the rent was over $5,000! The landlord told Grandma Ottomis off for not having the rent money on time. Not sure what happens if they can't pay, but one of my testing rules is three times and your evicted. Then they would have to move down to the tiny flats with 2 bedrooms. You would be if you saw my clothes catalogue. Even the male and elderly have pages of cc clothes.

I think my laptop would be a fiery ball of doom if I downloaded any more now. I sorted almost all of my hairs into Maxis Match yesterday and got some good clothes for men. Still not really enough, but I've still got a bit of clutter deleting to do, as some of the miscellaneous stuff is too far into the catalogue for me to ever bother using. I'm hoping to work on Hypothesis this week. I've finally got a list of what to shoot, but as one of those is 'All 12 kids at Hart House' it's not going to be the easiest stuff to play through. :/ I have no idea what happens with apartments, but wow that is a lot of rent! I'm guessing it might be like the repo man, that they come and take stuff that's worth the rent money? Not sure though.

Oh yes, I always forget you're on a lap top. That would curtail the downloading. I need to go through my hairs again, some of the new ones which look lovely in pictures have so many bad spots. Either bits of scalp or weird transpaent areas. Then I've collected heaps of coloured hairs and greys I don't know if it's safe to delete all those greys. Well these apartments are three stories and the top floor is unused. I just got one of them a room mate-first time I've tried that. They are kind of like a dormie in that you can't control them, but unlike a dormie you can see their wants and needs. I was worried about where she might choose to sleep so I tossed a cheap bed up on the third level and thankfully she took that. The one day they were short the land lady came and lectured them, but they had the money next day so I don't know what the game does. I should do an experiment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Seeing this is journaling... Today I decided to make a gypsy for my SSH Apple Valley. I downloaded some caravan pieces off parsimonious. Gave her a purple cat and turned her into a witch. So she basically shuns society and lives off her plot while also running a home business. Any single sim who sits down at her side room table gets a mate via the crystal ball. First time using it today. But making the teen selectable meant he lost a grade! Game must think he was moved in or something. Here is Esmeralda and her cat Mr Fluffy Her caravan home. She also has another smaller one for her witch items and a couple of sale shelves. I made it super colourful. "I think I burnt the cat stew" *Oh very droll, they all know it's a glitch* This was both hilarious and panicky. She set fire to the spaghetti and then I realized the cat was on the stove. (stove goes into a bench and the cat was on the bench) After the fireman put it out the cat was still happily sitting there!

Oooh I love that caravan! ;D And all the purple, lovely. Haha, that cat on the stove is hilarious, it just looks bored by the whole thing! I always thought room-mates would be properly moved in, that's strange being able to see what they want but not control them, I'd be forever clicking on them. I've been sorting cc the past few days, and I'm thinking about doing some hair retextures myself (again) as I just can't get Simgaroop's hairs on Esnips to download. I want Raon male hairs Maxis Matched!! I've also moved round chapter 28 and got it ready to shoot the two or three final scenes. Just that one long scene to do that I keep putting off. 10 uncontrollable children, why did I set this up?

I don't have any pics right now to share (as my game is still uninstalled...until I get Supernatural, I pre-ordered and my friend has it in Florida, I'm waiting on her to forward it to me). What was I saying....(still can't use question mark and a few other keys but...)
P.S. Jo, I love the cat and the caravan (but the cat especially)
So my train of thought went right out the window lol. I gather that this thread is about the things going on in our games. I don't have pics but I'm gonna do a rewrite of my TS2 story Path of the Prince (in TS3) I've gotten some writing done (but deleted every time because I can't think having to pause all the time to find the on-screen keyboard) but the story is a bit dark (vampires *rolls eyes*).
My legacy is also on hold (until I get Supernatural).

Jo, the caravan is really nice, and I love all the colors! The cat is a hoot, too. Amy, good luck with your big photo shoot! Roommates are more like pets than real people, and in fact the cheat that lets you control pets will also let you control roommates. And Esnips has so many links, none of which seems to actually download the content! Just all these random ".exe" files, which I don't know what they do and therefore wouldn't open even if I could. Pixx, have you gotten Supernatural yet? ****************** Spoilers & Confusion Ahead: esmeiolanthe's Behind-The Scenes29 September 2012: Already in Progress/ Ruth's (u)OWBC/ Auspicious It Ain't/ Jack Point's Home For Pedestrian PlayablesSo I haven't been playing for a while, but I got inspired recently and managed some good play sessions. Unfortunately, AiP is next up for being posted, and none of those play sessions have had to do with that story! I could slot in Auspicious It Ain't, but the problem with that is that I already have two chapters written with an explanation for why the Sims don't have the Birth Queen skin that they should have. (I didn't put it back in the right place on the second reinstall on the new computer, and I just put it back recently.) The reason this is a problem is this: That's Ygraine, the mother. As you can see, her Birth Queen skin has come back -- kind of. I suspect that changing her appearance with a mirror will fix the face, but how the heck do I explain the skintone coming back?! As far as Ruth's goes, Baby C is on the way. Or I suppose it could be twins. Actually, with my luck, it will be twins -- and then Glen will get abducted and come back without a lullaby. Available names are: Casilda (female) Chloe (female) Carruthers (female) Cholmondeley (male) Cyril (male) Calynx (male) Calverly (male) Corcoran (male) Any preferences? Plot musings below: I really like having Auspicious to play when I feel like playing with no pressure. Maybe the future spouse could be the child of one of the Auspicious kids instead of the kid themselves? Also, if I have a fire in an asylum and the stove burns up, can I replace it, or is that a no-no? One puzzling general thing: I have a WCIF page on my LJ where I list the cc I use and where it came from. I don't put stuff on there right away, since about a fifth to a quarter of what I put in my game doesn't last long. (I don't like it, or it doesn't work as advertised, or I find something better.) So I put things on the WCIF page after a little time has passed. Well, my notes for certain things are very bad. I have a folder labelled "Alexis" that contains all sorts of small clutter-type items, and I can't figure out where the heck I got them or who exactly made them. Some of them look like they might have come from this place or that place, but none of those places have a creator named "Alexis." Does this ring any bells? If not, how do you think I should credit the cc?

I'm continuing to play my self sustaining hood and just finished winter rotation. My Minister made enough money perks at his church (shop) so they could move to a nice large Orikes built house which I renovated-actualy I gutted the inside, changed all the second empire roofing (I can't see a thing!) to enclude a day care area. I've been wanting a home based day care for ages but didn't have a sim who could do it. (Needed to be female, family aspiration with children who had studied parenting who didn't need to get 'a 'job' with a large enough house. So the minister wife is perfect. She has 6 kids (One daughter at uni and five yes five teen boys. Melts) She wants to see 6 kids married off so I adopted 3 of those. A boy every time? *grumble* I only played one day as really the first rotation of spring or any season starts with the school. I tested out the transporter mirror and it worked a charm-so okay first up I sent a toddler to the homeless 'park' >cough< realized when no child showed up and corrected that pronto. I'm sure the vets wife wouldn't mind Angel homless with a mohalk who lives in a tent and a dirty bathroom looking after her toddler for the day? Eep. *hears auterny paper rusteling* I'm still having fun playing this hood but every time I load up I feel guilty. I should play my OWBC (but that needs all those age/skill hacks out) or my legacy or other challenges and I'm just not feeling like it. I haven't abandoned them but maybe I should say they are all on hiatus? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not a huge fan of those C names, although if I had to I'd pick Casilda and Calverly. let’s not think about twins! Yes, you may replace anything that gets burnt up, especially the stove. Yeah, it's so easy with cc for that to happen. Can you use Clean Installer? Or just list the file names of a few of them Esme and I'll see if I can tell. Otherwise can you upload one to Box? I could download it and take a look.

Yay for us all playing and journalling! ;D Esme, yay for the birth queen skin coming back, I think you're right about changing her appearance and it being fixed. As for why it came back...could she visit someone who was able to change it? Or have been through a life event to get it back? Sorry, I'm not very imaginative... I like Chloe and Cyril, but as you already have a Cecil it could get confusing, so I also like Calverly. I'm not sure about the Alexis cc, what kind of cluttery stuff is it? Jo, your neighbourhood sounds so interesting, I'd have never thought to make a Minister and a church, and the day care idea sounds great. Yikes at 5 teen boys though! I'm the same Jo, I've done loads of playing, decorating, make-overs, downloading, creating and small challenges this summer but Hypothesis is very, very slowly being worked on; I'm just never in the right mood. I've done my Good Genes Challenge and posted my entry on GoS but I want to pull the creepy skin from my game and turn them into actual sims Zombies before I post it to LJ. And SimPE is now working on everything...except the neighbourhood browser. 4 hours I left it running last night and it still hadn't loaded, so I know the problem isn't SimPE, it's my laptop and its processing. Time for a defrag and a good clean out...again. But on the plus side, I'm in a writing mood today, so hopefully I can work on this chapter. I can't wait to get this finished and move on to the next plot, it's just finishing it that's the hard part! *edit* Forgot to say that I've finished the inside of the Pleasant house, just got to take photos of it, so that's another thing to do today.

The church is downloaded and tweaked and sells books and flowers while the church part has a wedding arch and a pulpit that can be used to skill charisma. It's a very busy shop. As he is the minister he had to study couple's counselling and anger management. Recently I put on a Paster's career and he just made hospital Chaplin-didn't expect him to go to work in scrubs though! I see him wandering around town in those and go who is that?! Ohh.. Only trouble with him is he has bolts for every woman in town and does inappropriate heart farts all over the place! *slaps with a wet trout* I'm like those are your church members, cut it out! he married La Shawn the townie, so she is the one who will run the day care. Not sure how much she should charge yet, $50 per day? Yah for writing, at least you are working towards a chapter Amy.

So I've been thinking about my rule set to allow teens to uni and it may be too difficult. Right now I have it down as an A with 3 other scholarships. It can be done if I ignore the kids wants at the prep school and make them go skill after class work is done, but they are so lined up-study/skill/eat and socialise while eating/go home I'm not seeing any free will at all except where they escape my plan. Now Tina the principles daughter had a good broad range of skills, but none up to 8. She is romance so I toyed with the idea of not sending her but then the night before she was due to become an adult she rolled the go to uni want. She had no other scholarship apart from her A+ one. I decided to let her go and pay for uni with a loan of 20,000 (or maybe 10,000?) I just figured being the principle he would be able to pull some strings. What do you think? ease up on my free uni admittance or just make them pay back a loan if they don't make it? Maybe both? How much should that loan be? I can send the money to the Mayors house. This hood and it's rules are a work in progress.

I usually make exceptions for teens who roll a want to go, I kind of use it as an unofficial scholarship, kind of as if they'd written a letter to the uni to get in, or passed a test or something else that doesn't exist. Mind you, I'm obsessive about skills and make sure they have at least one at level 8... The loan would be a good idea, would you bring it in after college, or before they go there? Or if they get good grades at uni and get the Dean's List money, that could go towards paying it off? Right, I'm going to write some of Hypothesis this evening. I am. *edit* Oh, and as it looks like too much effort for my laptop to load sims today, here's my final entry for Good Genes, as it doesn't look likely that I'll be putting this one on my LJ any time soon. That's Jessica, and here she is with her twin brother Freddy, who has the creepy zombie eyes it took ages to breed out.
