I like the hutches in both of your entries, Jo, and I didn't know you could lower the Seasons upper cabinets! The place settings in your CC entry are a lovely touch! I'm off to mess with my Gadwin now, I should have both of my entries up soon. *fingers crossed* EDIT:Sims 2 NO CC entry:Sims 2 CC entry:

Oooh, I love all the plants in both of them, Lorin! Gorgeous colour schemes too, and I love the peacock statue in the CC one.

I love your casual homely (that means warm over here, not ugly... thought I better mention that ) style Lorin. I can feel it through both entries. Is anyone else entering? Sorry I got busy and haven't done a Sims 3 one yet but I can tomorrow afternoon.

I'm not well today and Esme also needs some extra time so I'll keep this open for a few more days.

Sorry I'm late! I got a phone call -- no nephew yet. While the kitchen is exclusively Mary-Sue's domain, I see the dining room as being a statement for Daniel, somewhere he can entertain people he wants to impress. TS 2 with cc:Overhead shot for orientation: Red strikes me as a very "Daniel Pleasant" color. Entry from the hallway: And Daniel would want to be thought of as "modern." To the left: Special dishes, such as hors d'oeuvres can go on the sideboard at fancy (or at least pretentious) functions. Continuing left: Pity the fireplace doesn't blend together nicer... And again: Daniel has never actually read any of the books. In fact, he isn't even sure what they are. He bought them by the yard at an estate sale because the covers "looked classy." Towards the kitchen: I tried to keep the two rooms blending reasonably well. I did change the window in the kitchen to match the other windows -- I hope that was okay... Towards the hallway: Drapes are by KiaraRawks. Windows and doors are by phoenix_phaerie. Ceiling tiles are by JWoods. Bookshelves and books are by Leefish. "Sideboard" (really a desk) is by HugeLunatic. All are available from MTS. Flowers are an EA Store item I snagged from MATY. And now that I won't be influenced by what anybody else did, I can go look at the other rooms! EDIT: Everyone else's rooms are so much nicer than mine! Jo, I think those tulips in your cc-free room came with Celebration Stuff, didn't they? And I love how you did the hutch using the cabinets! Lorin, both of your rooms are lovely, and I really like the cc one -- it looks so warm and inviting! (Although I would be nervous about which fork to use. ) Amy, I like the way your dining room flows into the kitchen: you can instantly tell they belong together and are part of the same house. modelmgmt, I saw your dessert table. It seems that great minds think alike. That and the turkey made it for me! And your captions made me laugh, especially the one about the pixie on the phone.

I hope so, I'm sure I had cc turned off just in case I accidently placed something.
Your room is lovely too Esme. I like the books cases-also something along with Lorin's mirror that I wouldn't think to add. The books give it a manly feel.
I'll see how I go tomorrow getting a Sims 3 entry in, my headache has turned into another cold.
I'd love anybody with TS3 to enter!

That is totally perfect for Daniel, you're right about the red. I love the reasoning behind it all, he is definitely a showy, party-hosting kind of person, and I can just imagine him holding a dinner party while Mary-Sue cooks away in the kitchen!

Everyone's entries look great!
Model: The dark green looks lovely for a dining room! I could so go for having a Thanksgiving dinner there.
Amy: I saw a decorating show a few years back that had a room with dark blue walls and white trim, and it's been one of my favorite looks ever since.
Esme: That modern fireplace gives it an understated elegance. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole house in your interpretation of the Pleasants!
Jo: Your TS3 dining room looks like something the leader of a moon or planetary colony would have. Love the plants!

That dining room goes perfectly with the kitchen, Jo! And I love the candle holder, all the glass looks very futuristic.

I was going for 'modern' but space ship feel kind of does suit it.

I LOVE Lorin's CC entry! BIG fan of the "global" look over here! Also like Jo's TS3 entry cos I'm a big fan of the ultra-modern, or swedish-modern styles. Very pretty, the both of you! Lorin: what dark green?

Model: Oops it looks green to me (a greeny-brown?), but I guess it's not that dark. The room seems a bit dark, I guess it stuck in my mind as darker than it really is.

Looks like there are no more entries so this round is now closed. Poll will be up for voting on tomorrow.
