The Exchange Closing?

That whole out of order thing makes me crazy, too. That'swhy I was thinking of switching to Bogger.com. For me, Sealgaire's 1st 3 chapters are on the EX & there's no way I'm deleting & re-entering 12 chapters to keep them together. If I do that, I'll move the whole thing to Blogger, where everything is not only in order, (not backwards like LJ) but a clickable chapter guide can be added right to the page. Wordpress is another site that works that way.

That's a good idea for you, Jill, since you post your stories 'blog style' anyway, but I just cannot give up on doing it the 'slide share' way. I cannot bear the thought of having my pics all laid out on the same page, open to view, before I am ready for people to see them. lol Actually, I think, a LOT of the 'charm' and 'intrigue' in my stories comes from not being able to see the next picture until you turn the page because I have mostly tried to sync up my screen shots to go with the text as best I can in most cases.

I am afraid having them posted blog style would ruin the whole story.

Crap! ALL my freaking chapters of 'Villa' are posted there, except for the last two, I think! That means I am going to have to upload those to slide share and post them at LJ too... then the stupid things will be out of order! As anal as I am about such things, I'll have to delete the two chapters that are on LJ already and re-post them after the earlier chapters...

And THEN, I have my 'An Immortal's Dream' story in which ALL the chapters are posted at the Exchange. With that, at the first four chapters have crappy pics and will look horrible in slide share...

Ah well, just the other day someone got me to thinking about that old story and I thought about reshooting those older pictures and then posting the whole thing up on LJ through slide share, so I guess now I am going to have to get past the 'thinking about it' stage.

Ah man... I just had a quick look back over the first few chapters of 'An Immortal's Dream', and the pictures are HIDEOUS! My graphics card wasn't as good as the ones I've had in later years, PLUS I didn't know to put the picture quality on the best option, AND there are so many walls left down it is ridiculous!

That is one reason I never bothered to post the links to them here to share with everyone. The story is actually pretty good and toward the end the pictures became AWESOME, but those first few chapters.... *shakes head sadly* They are pitiful!

I am wondering if the story is even worth the trouble of going back in and restaging the pictures to make the story worth reuploading to slide share and LJ.

One of the MAIN problems with that is the fact that a LOT of those pictures as well as the idea for some of the dialect, etc came from actual game play. (Yes, once upon a time, I did actually ENJOY playing my TS2 game!)

So, if I redo the story, it may end up having to be a total rewrite of some scenes because things wouldn't happen the same way and staging it the same exact way would be pretty much impossible. I do feel rather nostalgic and sentimental about the story, though. After all, it was my first serious attempt at writing a sims story.

Tina, everyone use to have horrible pictures! Walls down, plumb bobs everywhere and fuzzy pictures were par for the course.

Just say these are your old badly staged lower end graphic chapters that you are saving from the Exchange. Most people understand. Many of the popular ploty legacies on BP start out rocky looking. Those who don't understand aren't worth bothering about!

Thank you, Jo! Words cannot even express how much I appreciate your input/opinion. Actually, upon further inspection, EVERY chapter has lousy pics except for the last four chapters!

I do believe I can restage and reshoot quite a few of the pictures to make them better. The main chapter I cannot redo is when Robert Nordstrom got ubducted by the aliens because still, until this day, it is the only natural, unexpected alien ubduction I've ever had in my game...lol. Of course, for that, I could post an explanation on the cover page as to why I left those pics alone.

Of course if I take on this project, I will explain from the beginning what is going on, etc so that all who read will understand. I just cannot see myself posting all those crappy old pics up on LJ just the way are, though. *shivers in disgust at the thought*
