What's in a name?

Hey everyone! I was just thinking about all the interesting usernames people choose and wondering what they mean, if anything. Mine? Haha.. well, mine is sort of obvious since it's the name my mommy chose for me at birth! I'm not too good at being creative with the username thing. The most creative one I every did was maybe my yahoo ID, sgfn_tina. I first got on the internet back when I was IN LOVE with Savage Garden's music so sgfn stands for Savage Garden Fan.

So how did you choose your username and why?

My name on here is pretty simple, it's my name. Well the name I go by, I hate my legal name *stares at with dagger eyes*.

On TS2 website it's GarnetPly, Garnet after my favorite sim, they added the Ply at the end.

Dark_Dweller on other sites because I dwell within darkness.

Very good Nicole! I will exalt your reply when it lets me again! I like darkness too. That's why I made the black/purple for here. It may hurt some folks eyes, but it's comforting to mine for some reason. I was just visiting the pink cloud skin I made for my daughter and ... I don't know how the heck she looks at that thing! Ouch!

Ok, long story. My mom wanted to name me JillMarie. Back in the day, you didn't get a birth certificate until after you were baptized. (raised Catholic, still carry the guilt) Well, the priest wouldn't do it, because JillMarie wasn't a saint's name. He said it would have to be Julia with Marie as a middle name. My mom, in a moment of rebel zeal, (if the preist would've requested setting me on fire, she would have done so) let him baptize me that way, but put my name as Jill Marie on the birth certificate. So, that's where the Jill comes from.
I have a love of all things oriental, and "Honorable Jilly" VERY roughly translated is Jillyson.
On the exchange, I'm Twozaks. When I signed up on EA, I never realized there was a BBS. My hubby & I thought we were just registering games - his war games, my sims, so we combined to make one registration, Twozaks. (Zak is part of our last name) Once I found all the sim stuff, I couldn't change the user name, so I'm stuck there as Twozaks!

Hehehe... I like your explaination of your names Jill! Very interesting. I like the 'Honorable Jilly' thing. Very exotic!

And guess what? My middle is also Marie! ;D My original last name started with a 'T' thought and I always thought my middle name should have started with an 'N'. Then my initials would have been TNT!

TNT would've been so cool! I have a friend who's are KAT, andshe HATES being called 'cat'. I would think it was so cool - it would totally be my nickname!

Well for mine when I first started getting on boards I had a couple of nicks, but at a lot of places they were already taken. One board I was coffee4u and on my mummy board I am Kitty-Cat. I was getting tired of having different nicks and forgetting which place was which. I have a terrible memory. So I made my boring one of joandsarah which simply means 'Jo and Sarah' some places I have 77 on the end, that is our old house number. I have a couple of people think it meant my name was Joan No it's Joanne "blech"

My initials are almost in alphabetical order MNP, if only I had an O middle name, then it would be MNOP... Egh, I hate my first name so much. My mom named me after an extremly intelligent girl she went to high school with. The Nicole was a name her and my dad agreed on. And the reason Nicole isn't my first name instead is because with my first name being first in order it flows better when saying it. With Nicole first it sounds awkward. Wow...

Well I am like you Jo. I like having my same wherever I go if I can, but I can't always get it so I get confused sometimes trying to log into some places when my cookies have been cleaned out...lol

I'm TinaG13 at a lot of places. The 13 stands for my birth date. Whenever it's a new place without it already being in use, I like to just be Tina. Sometimes I'm TinaG and other times when the site will allow spaces, I'm Tina G. On the bbs, LOTS of Tinas were taken, I guess when it offered me TinaG1947, I just accepted it.
