Oven Recolours_Fixed!

Some of my recolours of things stoped working- I think it was after adding M and G. For example I had a Dora bedroom set with a recolour of the kids oven. There are pictures of Salvatore using it as a kid in one of my chapters. Well I noticed all the oven recolours have gone. They are still in my Download folder they just stoped showing up.

Also I put in a toddler cup, like an everlasting bottle. They can be drunk from and never go bad. This has four recolours and none show, and never have. All I have is a blank white vertion. I installed these twice and moved them into another folder as well. Nothing. It still works so that part is ok. But I would really like my oven recolours to show up again particully my wood recolour for my medieval sims.

Thought I would say all my potty recolours, bedding and toy recolours show up fine. I know I updated my CEP after putting AL on.

Nope lol. I download from so many places because I'm a total CC junkie. I'm sure some of the oven recolours came from MTS, I know the toddler sippy cup does. I'm wondering if some other hack is interfering with it? I use a lot of CC, but don't actually understand the mechanisms of it.

Take out the hacks that you use then try your game again

Yes I guess I can always do that. Must not be a known problem as I can't find it on Google. I was hoping it was known and not something I would need to start a binary search on. >sigh<

;D Jo, my sippy cup never worked & I have M&G,it also stopped my white bottle working too, as I took the sippy cup out,& replaced it with the white bottle one, but it does not work,most of my stuff does not work since putting in the last 3 games! I looked for updates,but there is none for the mods,only a few have bothered with updating their CC! AND if there is no updates they will not work with the newer games,some do,because they are simply re-colors! but the mods are what is not working, I am basically using re-colors for my S2 games,though some of my hacks are still working, my Vamp hacks are still working?I think you will have to leave a message in the comments section,to ask if they are updating to M&G!

All my mods are working as far as I know, so is the sippy cup. Really I want all the mods I have in place and wouldn't want to lose one just to gain toy oven recolours.

The sippy cup works fine, Just that it is all white (the mesh I guess) with none of the four cute recolours that it is supposed to have. I miss my kids recoloued easy bake ovens more though, the EA colours break some of my decorating schemes. I wish I knew exactly when they disappeared. As I said Salvatore as a kid used the Dora oven, so it wasn't that long ago which makes me think M & G might be the culprit.

I still think it's rather odd that all my other recoloured items show the recolours!

I guess when I feel motivated I'll try taking out my hack folder and seeing if those recolours show up or not.

;D I don't know if this will help,but there is a limit to how much CC each folder holds in certain systems,have a look it may help!

Thanks karima, I looked at that and don't think it's from too much as I have a lot of folders and sub folders. They say sub folders should take care of that. I still have folders which are horrible orginized such as the genetic one. But I am sorting files a bit each day and even then I don't think it would be too much.

I had a quick look at some more pages there, but my brain is already in bed so I think the rest of me better follow it.

I got nuthin. I downloaded a ton of clothes for teen Giselle that never showed up (well, they show up as 10 copies of an outfit I already had) so I'm the last person who can help! Lol!

Were they Rar files? I have discovered recently unzipped Rar files in my downloads. I don't know why as I always use 'Extract to' So for those I made a new folder clicked on the Rar and did 'Extract here' Some then unzipped and worked. A few gave me a Clean installer Sim 2 pack type file which I had to go into and install again. I really don't get that. I just did an old file of MTS which had a number of lab coats as I've wanted a good lab coat for some time. Well none of those have showed up at all. Or any of the walls that it came with. Must be too old I guess.

Have you updated your CEP,from MTS,it is the Color changer,I don't know if I got the letters right as there is a thick head controlling the keyboard(Thick as in Headache!)

~ I have way too much in my "Downloads" folder,no matter how many sub folders,thats my problem!32 bit restriction!

I updated CEP when I put on AL, was there another update?

I don't think I ever updated mine - I didn't know you had to!

I think it comes under the heading of a hack, and hacks do need updating now and then. I wouldn't have thought it would need updating after AL though.

I may possibly have found the problem, maybe this is where my other problems stem from, although it's strange all my other recolours work just fine.

I went and read through CEP over on MTS and found this:

- a file named "_EnableColorOptionsMMAT.package" in [gamedir]\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Sims3D (regardless of the EP that you may have installed, the location of this file is always this one).

Well I looked and found 'EnableColorOptionsMMAT.package' inside my Download folder not in the C programes Sims3D folder. So I'm thinking I will shut the game, move the file, load up again and see what happens. Lets hope I blow nothing up.

Edit: I made a game back up, removed thsoe two files and reinsatlled CEP. Problem fixed! Now the files are where they should be and I have the 'extras' folder I should have had before, but didn't. Something for oven recolours was needed in the 'extras' package. So I have all my oven recolours back.
