Jilly, I meant I don't know how to use our scanner. It's a combo fax, copier and scanner and I've never scanned anything with it before. 
I don't want to hit the wrong button and wreck anything! *Imagines paper spitting everywhere as clickitius takes hold*
Pixx, that is also a good idea. Again I have to admit to be such a total paper bag when it comes to technical things, and I am not sure how to even get my photos on my computer.
Dh tends to plug the thing in and I just click open. So I don't know where the thingame bob you stick in is.
I think if dh shows me how to scan the picture that might be the best. I just have to remember to ask him.
