Well, I pulled out the latest hair downloads again (those always seem to cause me trouble) and when I have time, I'll try them out in small groups to find which (if any) caused problems. I also had some weirdness where somehow duplications got made in my savedsims folder. I removed all the dups at the same time I took out the new hairs, and it was one or the other, because all is well now. (no S3 Maty, but that's a problem for another day.)
I'm just so glad to have my game back!!!

Well, by now you've seen my DD RR founder entry with her kitty cat hat. I really wanted her in braids, but I thought it looked wrong with the short hair under the hat, so I just gave her the shorter hairstyle. I wanted her to look like she was fresh out of college.

;D While, digging out the Sims for you,(thank you for doing that, for me!) I found all of my Sims had a 1 or 2,behind the same name, meaning clones! so I have the same problem, because I have not made copies of all my Sims, unless the game does that? & as for the in game 'cat ear hat' I think I may make it a personal project, to make it with longer hairs! But I have other unfinished stuff I have to do first before I start any new projects!

I'd definitely clean out your saved sims folder of all the dups. I didn't make mine, either - something in the game triggered it somehow. I don't know if that's what wrecked my game, cuz I took out a bunch of new cc hair too, but it can't be any good for the game to have those all in there.
