It's too darned bad you can only play one family at a time without screwing everyone else up in TS3. I already have about four hoods going that I rarely play. *sniff* lol

I've heard that if you bulldoze a lot with a beautiful Vista in it, it will screw up that lot forever! I'm chicken. I haven't killed any of my lots yet.

I've also heard that EA is coming out with a tool for making your own custom made Hoods! I hope so! Shoot I really need something like that!
I can't wait till the new expantion pack comes out. It's the 17th isn't it?

Yeah, I've read that about the beautiful vista as well. How stupid of them to make it that way!

Custom hoods would be nice, but I don't mind playing the ones I have...lol. What I'd REALLY like is if they'd make it so that you could be in control of more than one family at once. They could make it into whatever the player prefers, like an on/off switch in options or something.

I'm not sure, but the 17th sounds about right. I'll probably not get it right away, unless I just can't stand it..lol. I'll likely let the family buy it for me for Christmas or something. They never know what to get me!

I wish they would have made S3 a little bit more like S2 when placing a lot! I keep running out of room!
There is going to be a tool where you can make your own Hoods,
but I don't no when it's going to be released!

Jilly, To tell you the truth, I really don't no what a beautiful Vista is!
From what I've gathered it's something to do with a lot it's self.
You can move a house into the lots bin, and the lot will still have it, but if you bulldoze a lot the beautiful Vista gets bulldozed also,
which means that if you go and try to build another house on that same lot you bulldozed it will Glitch all the time! Thats kinda the way I understand it.
Hence the reason I have 8 Hoods!

A beautiful vista basically means a gorgeous view. At least in RL that's what it means. If you'll notice in the game, all those lots have a very nice view. It would seem to me that it should be set up so that all lots up on a hill, etc should be able to be considered has having beautiful vistas, but I guess it has something to do with how they are able to set up the game code.

Thats what I was thinking until I bulldozed the lot where I built the first castle I made. I bulldozed the house that was already on the lot, and then built the castle there. Well the building of it went just fine, but when I exited my game, and then went back to finish it every wall and floor in that castle had Red, White And Blue Question Marks all over it!!
I have never seen so many ?? in my life!! I put the castle in my lots bin to try it out in another hood, but it did the same thing!
I finally deleted it.

Thats why the castle that you have up top isn't here for you guys to DL!

I built Dark Shadows in a different hood, and I won't be bulldozing anything else. That was to much trouble for me! That darn castle took me a week to build!!!

That's so weird. I knew what it means in RL, but because I've heard this problem mentioned before, I wondered if it was something specific to EA. Now in Simselvania, I bulldozed the Rave Warehouse & replaced it with Tinas. I didn't have a single problem. Was that because it didn't feature a nice scenic view of the hood?

No, it's because that lot didn't have a beautiful vista. I think that lot has a rabbit hole, which is this thing that attracts other simmies to visit that lot.

I no where to get more beautiful vista's, and rabbit holes, but I don't no if they would be uploaded with the lot or not? No sence in building a Comm. Lot if I couldn't share it with all of you!
And I Love sharing all my builds! ;D

I don't no enough about beautiful vista's or rabbit holes to mess around with it yet! I'm hopeing that the new expantion pack will help out alot when it comes to more room for building lots! ;D

If that beautiful vista thing something you can wack onto any lot? Then you could build a dump and put one on it. A beautiful vista of a rubbish tip.

On another note. Lynda you inspired me to try an attached garage on sims 2! You should be proud. ;D
Go see my thread. Not that it's very far along because I build at snails pace, but I did that because of using the cheat for the curved bridge. I've used your tutorial a couple of times for bridges now too.

Rabbit holes and beautiful vistas...I guess I just won't bulldoze anything any more, since I don't have a clue which lot contains any of these Alice in Wonderland items! Thanks, EA!

All the really talented builders make videos, and teach you how to build, decorate the works! Qbuilders did one for a curved bridge, and its so funny!
You guys should check it out! I spent a whole day going through that website!


Jill, do you still have the link for those empty Hoods for S3?

If so Open up the RAR or Zip, I forgot which it is, there are maps for both Riverview & Sunset Valley! Those maps have the location of all Beautiful Vista's ( Those are for homes ) Rabbit holes are just for Comm. Lots!

If you don't have those files I'll get them for you! ;D

I did!!

I did a thread asking for building help because I was having trouble with the garage doors, but I managed to fix them.
This is a rather huge legacy house that I am making based of some Italian house plans. Just trying to add a basement now, which also gives me the heebies. But I think I'm finally starting to make that behave as well.
